Numbers 10
1 And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
Fais-toi deux trompettes d'argent; tu leur donneras la façon d'ouvrage fait autour; elles te serviront pour convoquer l'Assemblée, et indiquer le décampement.
3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Et quand on en sonnera [des deux], toute l'Assemblée se réunira auprès de toi à la porte de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
Et quand on sonnera d'une seule, les Princes, les chefs des divisions d'Israël se réuniront auprès de toi.
5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
Et quand vous sonnerez la charge, ceux-là lèveront le camp, qui campent à l'orient.
6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
Et quand vous sonnerez la charge pour, la seconde fois, ceux-là lèveront le camp, qui campent au midi; vous sonnerez la charge lors de votre décampement.
7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
Mais pour convoquer l'Assemblée, vous sonnerez des trompettes, mais non pas la charge.
8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
Et ce sont les fils d'Aaron, les Prêtres, qui sonneront des trompettes; elles sont instituées à perpétuité chez vous pour vos âges futurs.
9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before YHWH your Elohim, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
Et quand vous vous mettrez en campagne dans votre pays contre vos agresseurs qui vous attaqueront, vous sonnerez la charge avec les trompettes, et votre souvenir sera rappelé devant l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis.
10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your Elohim: I am YHWH your Elohim.
Et dans vos jours de réjouissance, et dans vos solennités et à vos Nouvelles Lunes vous sonnerez des trompettes en offrant vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices pacifiques, afin qu'elles rappellent votre souvenir devant votre Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
Et la seconde année, au second mois, le vingtième jour du mois, la nuée s'éleva de dessus la Résidence du Témoignage.
12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.
Et les enfants d'Israël partirent, selon l'ordre de leurs départs, du désert de Sinaï, et la nuée s'arrêta dans le désert de Paran.
13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of YHWH by the hand of Moses.
Ils firent ce premier décampement sur l'ordre de l'Éternel transmis par Moïse,
14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
et d'abord partit la bannière du camp des fils de Juda rangés par divisions, et leur corps d'armée était sous Nahesson, fils de Amminadab,
15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils d'Issaschar, sous Nethanéel, fils de Tsuhar,
16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Zabulon, sous Eliab, fils de Hélon.
17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.
Puis la Résidence fut démontée, et partirent les fils de Gerson, et les fils de Merari, portant la Résidence.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Alors partit la bannière du camp de Ruben rangé par divisions, et son corps d'armée était sous Elitsur, fils de Sedéur,
19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Siméon, sous Selumiel, fils de Tsurisaddaï,
20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Gad, sous Eliasaph, fils de Deguel.
21 And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
Puis partirent les Kahathites portant le Sanctuaire; et [les premiers] dressaient la Résidence en attendant leur arrivée.
22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.
Alors partit la bannière du camp des fils d'Ephraïm rangés par divisions, et leur corps d'armée était sous Elisamah, fils de Ammihud,
23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Manassé, sous Gamliel, fils de Pedahtsur,
24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Benjamin, sous Abidan, fils de Gidéoni.
25 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
Ensuite partit la bannière du camp des fils de Dan fermant la marche de tous les campements et rangés par divisions, et leur corps d'armée était sous Ahiézer, fils de Aramisaëdaï,
26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils d'Asser, sous Paghiel, fils de Hochram,
27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.
et le corps d'armée de la Tribu des fils de Néphthali, sous Ahira, fils de Einan.
28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.
Tel fut l'ordre du décampement des enfants d'Israël selon leurs divisions, c'est ainsi qu'ils se mirent en marche.
29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which YHWH said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for YHWH hath spoken good concerning Israel.
Alors Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Reguel, le Madianite, beau-père de Moïse: Nous marchons vers le lieu dont l'Éternel a dit: Je veux vous le donner; viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien; car l'Éternel a promis de faire du bien à Israël.
30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
Et il lui répondit: Je n'irai point; mais je veux regagner mon pays et ma patrie.
31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
Et Moïse reprit: Ne nous quitte donc pas, puisque en effet tu connais les lieux propres à nos campements dans le désert: sois donc notre œil.
32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness YHWH shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
Et si tu viens avec nous, et quand sera arrivé ce bien que l'Éternel veut nous faire, nous te ferons du bien.
33 And they departed from the mount of YHWH three days' journey: and the ark of the covenant of YHWH went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.
Ils partirent ainsi de la montagne de l'Éternel, et firent trois journées de marche, et l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel avait sur eux l'avance de trois journées de marche pour leur découvrir une station.
34 And the cloud of YHWH was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
Et la nuée de l'Éternel était au-dessus d'eux pendant le jour, lorsqu'ils partaient de leur campement.
35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, YHWH, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
Et au départ de l'Arche Moïse disait: Lève-toi, Éternel! et que tes ennemis soient dissipés, et ceux qui te haïssent, mis en fuite devant toi.
36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O YHWH, unto the many thousands of Israel.
Et quand elle s'arrêtait, il disait: Ramène, Éternel, les myriades des divisions d'Israël.
