Matthew 24
1 And Yahushua went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
Et après être sorti du temple Jésus se remettait en chemin, et ses disciples s'approchèrent pour lui montrer les édifices du temple.
2 And Yahushua said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Mais il leur répliqua: « Ne voyez-vous pas tout cela? En vérité je vous le déclare: il ne sera certainement pas laissé ici pierre sur pierre qui ne soit démolie. »
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (aiōn g165)
Or, pendant qu'il était assis sur la montagne des Oliviers, les disciples s'approchèrent de lui en particulier en disant: « Dis-nous, quand cela aura-t-il lieu? Et quel sera le signe de ton avènement et de la consommation du temps? » (aiōn g165)
4 And Yahushua answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Et Jésus leur répliqua: « Prenez garde que personne ne vous égare;
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Messiah; and shall deceive many.
car beaucoup viendront en mon nom, disant: C'est moi qui suis le Christ, et ils en égareront plusieurs.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mais vous entendrez bientôt parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres; n'ayez garde de vous en laisser troubler, car il faut que cela arrive; mais ce n'est pas encore la fin.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
En effet, une nation s'élèvera contre une nation, et un royaume contre un royaume, et il y aura ici et là des famines et des tremblements de terre.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Or tout cela est le commencement des douleurs.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Alors ils vous livreront pour être persécutés, et ils vous feront mourir, et vous serez haïs de toutes les nations à cause de mon nom;
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
et alors plusieurs trébucheront, et ils se livreront les uns les autres, et ils se haïront les uns les autres.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Et beaucoup de faux prophètes surgiront, et ils en égareront plusieurs.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Et à cause de l'accroissement de l'iniquité, la charité du plus grand nombre se refroidira;
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
mais celui qui aura persévéré jusques à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Et cet évangile du royaume sera prêché dans la terre entière, pour servir de témoignage à toutes les nations, et alors viendra la fin.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: )
« Ainsi donc, quand vous aurez vu « l'œuvre abominable de la dévastation, » dont il a été parlé par l'entremise de Daniel le prophète, établie dans un lieu saint (que le lecteur y réfléchisse),
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
alors que ceux qui sont en Judée s'enfuient dans les montagnes;
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
que celui qui est sur le toit ne descende pas pour sortir quoi que ce soit de sa maison;
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
et que celui qui est aux champs ne revienne pas en arrière pour prendre son manteau.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mais malheur à celles qui sont enceintes, et à celles qui allaitent en ces jours-la!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:
Or priez afin que votre fuite n'ait pas lieu en hiver, ni un jour de sabbat;
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
car il y aura alors une grande tribulation, telle qu'il n'y en a pas eu encore depuis le commencement du monde jusques à maintenant, et qu'il n'y en aura certainement jamais.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Et si ces jours-là n'avaient été raccourcis, qui que ce soit n'eut été sauvé; mais à cause des élus ces jours-là seront raccourcis.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Messiah, or there; believe it not.
Alors si quelqu'un vous dit: Voici, le Christ est ici, ou ici, ne le croyez pas;
24 For there shall arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
car il surgira de faux Christs et de faux prophètes, et ils feront de grands miracles et des prodiges, de manière à égarer, s'il est possible, même les élus.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
Voici, je vous l'ai prédit.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Si donc ils vous disent: « voici, il est au désert, » ne vous y rendez pas; « voici, il est dans les chambres, » ne le croyez pas;
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
car, tel l'éclair sort de l'orient et brille jusques au couchant, tel sera l'avènement du fils de l'homme.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Où que soit le cadavre, c'est là que se rassembleront les aigles.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Or, immédiatement après la tribulation de ces jours-là, le soleil s'obscurcira, et la lune ne donnera pas sa lumière, et les astres tomberont du ciel, et les puissances des cieux seront ébranlées.
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Et alors paraîtra le signe du fils de l'homme dans le ciel, et alors se lamenteront toutes les tribus de la terre, et elles verront le fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées du ciel avec beaucoup de puissance et de gloire;
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
et il enverra ses anges avec un grand bruit de trompette, et ils rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents, d'une extrémité des cieux jusqu'à leur autre extrémité.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Or, instruisez-vous par cette comparaison tirée du figuier: Lorsque ses branches commencent à se ramollir et qu'il pousse ses feuilles, vous savez que l'été est proche.
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
De même vous aussi, lorsque vous aurez vu toutes ces choses, sachez qu'il est proche, qu'il est à la porte.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
En vérité je vous déclare que cette génération ne disparaîtra certainement point jusqu'à ce que toutes ces choses se soient réalisées.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront certainement point.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Or, quant à ce jour-là et à l'heure, personne n'en sait rien, ni les anges des cieux, ni le Fils, mais le Père seul.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Car telle fut l'époque de Noé, tel sera l'avènement du fils de l'homme.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
En effet, de même qu'en ces jours-là qui précédèrent le déluge on mangeait et on buvait, que les hommes prenaient des femmes et les femmes des maris, jusques au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
et qu'ils ne s'avisèrent de rien, jusques à ce que survint le déluge qui les enleva tous, tel sera l'avènement du fils de l'homme.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Alors deux hommes seront dans les champs, l'un est pris et l'autre laissé;
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
deux femmes moudront à la meule, l'une est prise et l'autre laissée.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your master doth come.
Veillez donc, car vous ne savez pas quel jour votre maître doit venir.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Or, sachez ceci, c'est ce que, si le chef de famille avait su à quelle veille devait venir le voleur, il aurait veillé et n'aurait pas laissé forcer sa maison.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
C'est pourquoi vous aussi tenez-vous prêts, car le Fils de l'homme doit venir à l'heure dont vous ne vous doutez pas.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Quel est, je vous prie, l'esclave fidèle et prudent que le maître a mis à la tête de ses gens, pour leur donner leur nourriture à propos?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his master when he cometh shall find so doing.
Heureux cet esclave que son maître, à son arrivée, trouvera agissant de la sorte;
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
en vérité je vous déclare qu'il le mettra à la tête de tous ses biens.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My master delayeth his coming;
Mais si ce mauvais esclave se dit en son cœur: « Mon maître tarde, »
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
et qu'il se mette à battre les esclaves qui servent avec lui, tandis qu'il mange et boit avec les ivrognes,
50 The master of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
le maître de cet esclave arrivera le jour où il ne s'y attend pas, et à l'heure qu'il ne connaît pas,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
et il le pourfendra et lui assignera son lot parmi les hypocrites; c'est là que sera le pleur et le grincement des dents.
