Judges 2
1 And an angel of YHWH came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
೧ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಬೋಕೀಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದೆನು. ‘ನಿಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಎಂದೂ ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಮಾತು ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ,
2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
೨ನೀವು ಈ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು; ಅವರ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ?
3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their elohim shall be a snare unto you.
೩‘ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಈ ದೇಶ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಾಗಿರುವರು; ಅವರ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಉರುಲಾಗುವವು’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನಲ್ಲಾ” ಅಂದನು.
4 And it came to pass, when the angel of YHWH spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
೪ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತರು.
5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto YHWH.
೫ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೋಕೀಮೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡಿದರು.
6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
೬ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
7 And the people served YHWH all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of YHWH, that he did for Israel.
೭ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of YHWH, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
೮ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನೂನನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ನೂರ ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು.
9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
೯ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದ ಭೂಮಿಯಾದ ತಿಮ್ನತ್ ಹೆರೆಸ್ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅದು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಪರ್ವತಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಾಷ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಉತ್ತರದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not YHWH, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
೧೦ಅವನ ಕಾಲದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದರು. ಆನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನೂ, ಆತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರಿಯದಿದ್ದ ಬೇರೊಂದು ಸಂತಾನವು ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು.
11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of YHWH, and served Baalim:
೧೧ಈ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
12 And they forsook YHWH Elohim of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other elohim, of the elohim of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked YHWH to anger.
೧೨ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಕರತಂದ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಣ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
13 And they forsook YHWH, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
೧೩ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಾಳ್, ಅಷ್ಟೋರೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವವರಾದರು.
14 And the anger of YHWH was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
೧೪ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಯಿತು. ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡುವವರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಅವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಣ ವೈರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರು ಆ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರದವರಾದರು.
15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of YHWH was against them for evil, as YHWH had said, and as YHWH had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
೧೫ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಆತನ ಕೈ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರು ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರು.
16 Nevertheless YHWH raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
೧೬ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡುವವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other elohim, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of YHWH; but they did not so.
೧೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳದೆ ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ದೈವದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬೇಗನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರಂತೆ ನಡೆಯಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
18 And when YHWH raised them up judges, then YHWH was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented YHWH because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
೧೮ವೈರಿಗಳ ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ತಾಳಲಾರದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಗೋಳಾಟವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು, ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಜೀವಮಾನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದನು. ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದನು.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other elohim to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
೧೯ಅಂಥ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ತೀರಿಹೋದನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಪುನಃ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ, ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು, ಮೊಂಡತನಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
20 And the anger of YHWH was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
೨೦ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಯಿತು. ಆತನು, “ಈ ಜನರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇವರು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
೨೧ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಸಾಯುವ ಮೊದಲು ಹೊರಡಿಸದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಒಂದನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of YHWH to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
೨೨ಇವರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರಂತೆ ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಈ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆನು” ಅಂದನು.
23 Therefore YHWH left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
೨೩ಇದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸದೆ ಉಳಿಸಿದ್ದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಗನೆ ಓಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
