Jeremiah 47

1 The word of YHWH that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.

パロがガザを撃ざりし先にペリシテ人の事につきて預言者ヱレミヤに臨みしヱホバの言

2 Thus saith YHWH; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of thee and shall howl.

ヱホバかくいひたまふ視よ水北より起り溢れながれて此地と其中の諸の物とその邑と其中に住る者とに溢れかかるべしその時人衆は叫びこの地に住る者は皆哭くべし

3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

その逞しき馬の蹄の蹴たつる音のため其車の響のため其輪の轟のために父は手弱りて己の子女を顧みざるなり

4 Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for YHWH will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

是ペリシテ人を滅しつくしツロとシドンにのこりて助力をなす者を悉く絕す日來ればなりヱホバ、カフトルの地に遺れるペリシテ人を滅したまふべし

5 Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?

ガザには髮を剃るの事はじまるアシケロンと其剩餘の平地は滅ぼさる汝いつまで身に傷くるや

6 O thou sword of YHWH, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

ヱホバの劍よ汝いつまで息まざるや汝の鞘に歸りて息み靜まれ

7 How can it be quiet, seeing YHWH hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

ヱホバこれに命じたるなればいかで息むことをえんやアシケロンと海邊を攻ることを定めたまへり
