< James 1 >

1 James, a servant of YHWH and of the Master Yahushua the Messiah, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
Nye, Yakobo, Mawu kple Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo ƒe dɔla gbɔe agbalẽ sia tso, Na Mawu ƒe ame siwo kaka ɖe xexea me godoo: Mele gbe dom na mi katã.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, ne dodokpɔ ƒomevi geɖewo tu mi la, mibui dzidzɔ sɔŋ,
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
elabena mienyae bena miaƒe xɔse ƒe dodokpɔ hea dzidodo vanɛ.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Ele be dzidodo nawu eƒe dɔ nu, ale be miatsi, azu blibo, eye naneke mahiã mi o.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of YHWH, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Ne ame aɖe hiã nunya la, nebia Mawu, ame si naa nu ame sia ame faa kple dɔmekɔkɔ, eye Mawu anae fɔbubumanɔmee.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Gake ne ebia la, ele nɛ be wòaxɔe ase ɖikeke manɔmee, elabena ame si kea ɖi la le abe ƒutsotsoe si ya ƒona yina gbɔna la ene.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of YHWH.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
Nɔvi si mele nɔƒe kɔkɔ aɖeke o la neƒo adegbe be wodo ye ɖe dzi.
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the favour of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Elabena ɣe dzena, eye ɣe la ƒe ŋusẽ nana gbe yrɔna, eye eƒe seƒoƒo duduna, ale wòbua eƒe nyonyo. Nenema ke kesinɔtɔ hã nu ava yi esime wòɖo eƒe agbe ƒe viviƒe.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which YHWH hath promised to them that love him.
Woayra ame si doa dzi le tetekpɔ me la, elabena ne enɔ te va se ɖe nuwuwu la, axɔ agbefiakuku si ƒe ŋugbe Mawu do na ame siwo lɔ̃nɛ la.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of YHWH: for YHWH cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Ne wote ame aɖe kpɔ la, megagblɔ be, “Mawu le teyem kpɔ o,” elabena womate ŋu atsɔ nu vɔ̃ɖi ate Mawu kpɔ alo eya ŋutɔ hã nate ame aɖeke kpɔ o.
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Ke boŋ ame sia ame ƒe didi vɔ̃woe tenɛ kpɔ, eye woblea enu hehenɛ dzonae.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Emegbe la, didi vɔ̃ la fɔa fu hedzia nu vɔ̃, eye ne nu vɔ̃ tsi nyuie la, edzia ku.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, migana woable mi o.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Enye eƒe lɔlɔ̃nu be wòadzi mí to nyateƒe ƒe nya la me, ale be míanye eƒe nuwɔwɔwo katã ƒe kutsetse gbãtɔ.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Nɔvinye lɔlɔ̃awo, milé ŋku ɖe nu sia ŋu be: ame sia ame naɖe abla le nusese me, nanɔ blewu le nuƒoƒo kple dɔmedzoedodo me,
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of YHWH.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Eya ta miɖe ŋutilãmeɖiƒoƒowo katã ɖi kple nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔwɔ si bɔ ɖe mia dome la ɖi, eye miatsɔ ɖokuibɔbɔ axɔ nya si wodo ɖe mia me, esi si ŋusẽ le be wòaɖe miaƒe luʋɔwo.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
elabena ame aɖe si se nya la, eye mewɔ ɖe edzi o la ɖi ame aɖe si kpɔ eƒe mo le ahuhɔ̃e me.
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Ke esi wòdzo le ahuhɔ̃ea gbɔ la, megaɖo ŋku ale si eƒe dzedzeme le la dzi o.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Ke ame si dzroa Mawu ƒe se si de blibo si naa ablɔɖe ame la me tsitotsito ɣe sia ɣi, eye meŋlɔa nu si wòsrɔ̃ la be o, ke boŋ wòwɔa edzi la, woayrae le nu si wòwɔna la me.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Ne ame aɖe gblɔ be yenye xɔsetɔ, ke mede ga eƒe aɖe o la, ele eɖokui blem, eye eƒe xɔse la hã nye dzodzro.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before YHWH and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Xɔse si mía Mawu Fofo la xɔna abe esi le dzadzɛe, eye kpɔtsɔtsɔ mele eŋu o lae nye esi be: woakpɔ tsyɔ̃eviwo kple ahosiwo dzi le woƒe xaxawo me, eye be amea maƒo ɖi eɖokui kple xexemenuwo o.
