< James 4 >
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Dzinobvepi hondo nekurwa pakati penyu? Hazvibvi apa here, pakuchiva kwenyu kunorwa pamitezo yenyu?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Munoshuva, asi hamuna chinhu; munouraya uye munoshumba, asi hamugoni kuwana chinhu; munorwa muchiita hondo, asi hamuna chinhu, nokuti hamukumbiri.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Munokumbira, asi hamugamuchiri, nokuti munokumbira zvakaipa, kuti muparadze pakuchiva kwenyu.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with YHWH? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of YHWH.
Imwi mhombwe nemhombwekadzi, hamuzivi here kuti ushamwari hwenyika ruvengo kuna Mwari? Naizvozvo umwe neumwe anoda kuva shamwari yenyika, anova muvengi waMwari.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Kana munofunga kuti rugwaro rwunotaura pasina maturo here kuti: Mweya wakagara mukati medu anochivira godo?
6 But he giveth more favour. Wherefore he saith, YHWH resisteth the proud, but giveth favour unto the humble.
Asi anopa nyasha huru; saka anoti: Mwari anopikisa vanozvikudza, asi anopa nyasha vanozvininipisa.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to YHWH. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Naizvozvo muzviise pasi kuna Mwari; pikisai dhiabhorosi, zvino achakutizai.
8 Draw nigh to YHWH, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Swederai kuna Mwari, naiye achaswedera kwamuri; shambai maoko, vatadzi, uye muchenure moyo, imwi vemoyo miviri.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Tambudzikai uye chemai uye rirai; kuseka kwenyu ngakushandurwe kuve kuchema, nemufaro uve kusuruvara.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of YHWH, and he shall lift you up.
Zvininipisei pamberi paIshe, uye achakusimudzai.
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Musareverana zvakaipa, hama. Anorevera hama zvakaipa uye kutonga hama yake, anorevera murairo zvakaipa, nekutonga murairo; zvino kana uchitonga murairo, hausi muiti wemurairo, asi mutongi.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Umwe chete ndiye mutemi wemurairo, anogona kuponesa nekuparadza; iwe ndiwe ani anotonga umwe?
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Uyai ikozvino imwi munoti: Nhasi kana mangwana tichaenda kuguta rekuti, tigogarako gore rimwe, tigotengeserana, tigowana mubairo;
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
imwi musingazivi zvamangwana. Nokuti upenyu hwenyu chii? Nokuti imhute inoonekwa nguva diki, ipapo ndokunyangarika.
15 For that ye ought to say, If YHWH will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Pakuti muti: Kana Ishe achida, tichararamawo, tigoita ichi kana icho.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Asi ikozvino munozvirumbidza pakuzvikudza kwenyu; kuzvirumbidza kwese kwakadai kwakaipa.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Naizvozvo anoziva kuita zvakanaka asingazviiti, chivi kwaari.
