< Isaiah 21 >

1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
Obunnabbi obukwata ku Ddungu eririraanye ennyanja: Ng’embuyaga bwe zikunta nga ziyita mu nsi ey’obukiikaddyo, bw’atyo alumba bw’ava mu ddungu eririraanye ensi etiisa.
2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
Nfunye okwolesebwa okw’entiisa: alyamu olukwe akola omulimu gwe, n’omunyazi anyaga. Eramu, lumba! Obumeedi zingiza! Ndikomya okusinda kwonna kwe yaleeta.
3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
Omubiri gwange kyeguvudde gulumwa, n’obulumi bunkwata, ng’omukazi alumwa okuzaala; nnyiize olw’ebyo bye mpulira, bye ndaba bimazeemu amaanyi.
4 My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.
Omutima gwange gutya, Entiisa endetera okukankana; Akasendabazaana ke nnali njayaanira, kanfukidde ekikankano.
5 Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.
Bateekateeka olujjuliro, bayalirira ebiwempe, ne balya, ne banywa! Mugolokoke mmwe abakulembeze, musiige engabo amafuta.
6 For thus hath YHWH said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
Kino Mukama ky’aŋŋamba nti, “Genda ofune omukuumi akuleetere amawulire ku ebyo by’alaba.
7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
Bw’alaba amagaali n’ebibinja by’embalaasi, n’abeebagazi ku ndogoyi oba abeebagazi ku ŋŋamira yeekuume, era yeegendereze.”
8 And he cried, A lion: My master, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
Awo omukuumi n’ayogera mu ddoboozi ery’omwanguka ng’agamba nti, “Mukama wange, buli lunaku nnyimirira ku munaala, buli kiro mbeera ku mulimu gwange.
9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her elohim he hath broken unto the ground.
Laba omusajja wuuno ajjira mu ggaali, ng’alina n’ekibinja ky’embalaasi. Era ayanukula bw’ati nti, ‘Babulooni kigudde, weewaawo kigudde. Ebifaananyi bya bakatonda baakyo byonna bibetenteddwa wansi ku ttaka.’”
10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of YHWH of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, have I declared unto you.
Abantu bange, abasesebbuddwa ku gguuliro, mbategeeza kyempulidde okuva eri Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, Katonda wa Isirayiri.
11 The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
Obunnabbi obukwata ku Duuma: Waliwo ankowoola okuva mu Seyiri ng’ayogera nti, “Omukuumi, bunaakya ddi? Omukuumi, bunaakya ddi?”
12 The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: return, come.
Omukuumi ayanukula bw’ati nti, “Bulikya, era buliziba. Bw’obaako ne ky’obuuza kibuuze okomewo nate.”
13 The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.
Obunnabbi obukwata ku Buwalabu: Mmwe Abadedeni abatambulira mu bibinja, abasiisira mu bisaka bya Buwalabu,
14 The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
muleetere abalumwa ennyonta amazzi; mmwe ababeera mu Teema, muleetere abanoonyi b’obubudamu emmere.
15 For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
Badduka ekitala, badduka ekitala ekisowole, badduka omutego ogunaanuddwa, badduka n’akabi k’entalo.
16 For thus hath YHWH said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
Bw’ati Mukama bw’aŋŋamba nti, “Mu mwaka gumu, ng’endagaano gye bakolera omukozi bw’eba, ekitiibwa kyonna ekya Kedali kirikoma.
17 And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for YHWH Elohim of Israel hath spoken it.
Ku b’obusaale abaliwona, ne ku basajja abalwanyi abazira ab’e Kedali, walisigalawo batono.” Mukama Katonda wa Isirayiri ayogedde.
