Ezra 10
1 Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of Elohim, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
エズラ神の室の前に泣伏して禱りかつ懺悔しをる時に男女および兒女はなはだし多くイスラエルの中より集ひて彼の許に聚り來れり すべての民はいたく泣かなしめり
2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our Elohim, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
時にエラムの子ヱヒエルの子シカニヤ答へてエズラに言ふ 我らはわれらの神に對ひて罪を犯し此地の民なる異邦人の婦女を娶れり 然ながら此事につきてはイスラエルに今なほ望あり
3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our Elohim to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my master, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our Elohim; and let it be done according to the law.
然ば我儕わが主の教晦にしたがひ又我らの神の命令に戰慄く人々の教晦にしたがひて斯る妻をことごとく出し之が産たる者を去んといふ契約を今われらの神に立てん 而して律法にしたがひて之を爲べし
4 Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
起よ是事は汝の主どる所なり 我ら汝を助くべし心を強くして之を爲せと
5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
エズラやがて起あがり祭司の長等レビ人およびイスラエルの人衆をして此言のごとく爲んと誓はしめたり 彼ら乃ち誓へり
6 Then Ezra rose up from before the house of Elohim, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
かくてエズラ神の家の前より起いでてエリアシブの子ヨハナンの室に入しが彼處に至りてもパンを食ず水を飮ざりき 是は俘囚より歸り來りし者の愆を憂へたればなり
7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
斯てユダおよびヱルサレムに遍ねく宣て俘囚の人々に盡く示して云ふ 汝ら皆ヱルサレムに集まるべし
8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
凡そ牧伯等と長老等の諭言にしたがひて三日の内に來らざる者は皆その一切の所有を取あげられ俘擄人の會より黜けらるべしと
9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of Elohim, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
是においてユダとベニヤミンの人々みな三日の内にヱルサレムに集まれり 是は九月にして恰もその月の廿日なりき 民みな神の室の前なる廣塲に坐して此事のためまた大雨のために震ひ慄けり
10 And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
時に祭司エズラ起て之に言けるは汝らは罪を犯し異邦の婦人を娶りてイスラエルの愆を増り
11 Now therefore make confession unto YHWH Elohim of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
然ば今なんぢらのの先祖の神ヱホバに懺悔してその御旨を行へ 即ち汝等この地の民等および異邦の婦人とはなるべしと
12 Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
會衆みな聲をあげて答へて言ふ 汝が我らに諭せるごとく我儕かならず爲べし
13 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
然ど民は衆し 又今は大雨の候なれば我儕外に立こと能はず 且これは一日二日の事業にあらず 其は我らこの事について大に罪を犯したればなり
14 Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our Elohim for this matter be turned from us.
然ば我らの牧伯等この全會衆のために立れよ 凡そ我儕の邑の内にもし異邦の婦人を娶りし者あらば皆定むる時に來るべし 又その各々の邑の長老および裁判人これに伴ふべし 斯して此事を成ば我らの神の烈しき怒つひに我らを離るるあらんと
15 Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
その時立てこれに逆ひし者はアサヘルの子ヨナタンおよびテクワの子ヤハジア而已メシユラムおよびレビ人シヤベタイこれを贊く
16 And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
俘囚より歸り來りし者つひに然なし 祭司エズラおよび宗家の長數人その宗家にしたがひて名指して撰ばれ十月の一日より共に坐してこの事を査べ
17 And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
正月の一日に至りてやうやく異邦の婦人を娶りし人々を盡く査べ畢れり
18 And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
祭司の徒の中にて異邦の婦人を娶りし者は即ちヨザダクの子ヱシュアの子等およびその兄弟マアセヤ、エリエゼル、ヤリブ、ゲダリヤ
19 And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.
彼らはその妻を出さんといふ誓をなし已に愆を獲たればとて牡羊一匹をその愆のために獻げたり
20 And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.
インメルの子孫ハナニおよびゼバデヤ
21 And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and EliYah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
ハリムの子孫マアセヤ、エリヤ、シマヤ、ヱヒエル、ウジヤ
22 And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
パシユルの子孫エリオエナイ、マアセヤ、イシマエル、ネタンエル、ヨザバデ、エラサ
23 Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita, ) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
レビ人の中にてはヨザバデ、シメイ、ケラヤ（即ちケリタ）ペタヒヤ、ユダ、エリエゼル
24 Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
謳歌者の中にてはエリアシブ 門を守る者の中にてはシヤルム、テレムおよびウリ
25 Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
イスラエルの中にてはパロシの子孫ラミヤ、エジア、マルキヤ、ミヤミン、エレアザル、マルキヤ、ベナヤ
26 And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.
エラムの子孫マッタニヤ、ゼカリヤ、ヱヒエル、アブデ、ヱレモテ、エリヤ
27 And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
ザットの子孫エリオエナイ、エリアシブ、マッタニヤ、ヱレモテ、ザバデ、アジザ
28 Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.
ベバイの子孫ヨハナン、ハナニヤ、ザバイ、アテライ
29 And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
バニの子孫メシユラム、マルク、アダヤ、ヤシュブ、シヤル、ヱレモテ
30 And of the sons of Pahath-moab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
パハテモアブの子孫アデナ、ケラル、ベナヤ、マアセヤ、マッタニヤ、ベザレル、ビンヌイ、マナセ
31 And of the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
ハリムの子孫エリエゼル、ヱシヤ、マルキヤ、シマヤ、シメオン
32 Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemariah.
ベニヤミン、マルク、シマリヤ
33 Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, and Shimei.
ハシュムの子孫マッテナイ、マツタタ、ザバデ、エリパレテ、ヱレマイ、マナセ、シメイ
34 Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
バニの子孫マアダイ、アムラム、ウエル
35 Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,
ベナヤ、ベデヤ、ケルヒ
36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
ワニヤ、メレモテ、エリアシブ
37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,
マッタニヤ、マッテナイ、ヤアス
38 And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,
バニ、ビンヌイ、シメイ
39 And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
シレミヤ、ナタン、アダヤ
40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
マクナデバイ、シヤシヤイ、シヤライ
41 Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
アザリエル、シレミヤ、シマリヤ
42 Shallum, Amariah, and Joseph.
シヤルム、アマリヤ、ヨセフ
43 Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.
ネボの子孫ヱイエル、マッタテヤ、ザバデ、ゼビナ、イド、ヨエル、ベナヤ
44 All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
是みな異邦の婦人を娶りし者なり その婦人の中には子女を産し者もありき
