< Ephesians 5 >

1 Be ye therefore followers of YHWH, as dear children;
ⲁ̅ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ
2 And walk in love, as the Messiah also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to YHWH for a sweetsmelling savour.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲥⲫⲟⲣⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲥϯⲛⲟⲩϥⲉ
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
ⲅ̅ⲡⲟⲣⲛⲉⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲓ ⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲥⲓⲁ ⲏ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲩⲧⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲓⲛⲟⲩ ⲣⲱ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲡⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
ⲇ̅ⲏ ⲟⲩϣⲗⲟϥ ⲏ ⲟⲩϣϫⲥⲟϭ ⲏ ⲟⲩⲗⲗⲏⲃ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲉϣϣⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲟϥ
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of YHWH.
ⲉ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲏ ⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲥ ⲏ ⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲧϥⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲛⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of YHWH upon the children of disobedience.
ⲋ̅ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲣϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
ⲍ̅ⲙⲡⲣϣⲱⲡⲉ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϭⲏⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye in the light of YHWH: walk as children of light:
ⲏ̅ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟ ⲛⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )
ⲑ̅ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ
10 Proving what is acceptable unto YHWH.
ⲓ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲡⲓⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ϩⲉⲛϣⲗⲟϥ ⲉⲣⲡⲕⲉϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϣⲁⲣⲉ ϩⲱⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲟⲩϫⲡⲓⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲉⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲉ
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and the Messiah shall give thee light.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲅ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲛⲅⲗⲟ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲧⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲣⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ϭⲱϣⲧ ϭⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲣϫ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲱⲥ ⲥⲁⲃⲉ
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲱⲡ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲟⲟⲩ
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of YHWH is.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲣϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣϯϩⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲏⲣⲡ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧϣⲛⲁ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to YHWH;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲯⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲱⲇⲏ ⲙⲡⲛⲁⲧⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲯⲁⲗⲗⲓ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto YHWH the Father in the name of our Master Yahushua the Messiah;
ⲕ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲛⲧⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of YHWH.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛ ⲑⲟⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto Yahushua.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly: and he is the saviour of the body.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ϫⲉ ⲡϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ
24 Therefore as the assembly is subject unto the Messiah, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϩⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it;
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲃⲃⲟⲥ ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡϫⲱⲕⲙ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious assembly, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ ⲉⲥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲩ ⲉⲙⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϫⲱϩⲙ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲏ ⲧⲱⲗⲙ ⲏ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲧⲧⲱⲗⲙ
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ϣϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲁϥ
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Yahushua the assembly:
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲙⲡⲉ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲙⲉⲥⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲥⲁⲛⲟⲩϣⲥ ⲛϥⲑⲁⲗⲡⲉⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
ⲗ̅ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϥⲧⲱϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning the Messiah and the assembly.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ϩⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲙⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥϩⲉ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲉⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ
