Daniel 5
1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his masters, and drank wine before the thousand.
El rey Belsasar hizo un gran banquete para 1.000 de sus dignatarios y bebía vino en presencia de los 1.000.
2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Con el efecto del vino, Belsasar mandó traer los vasos de oro y de plata que Nabucodonosor, su padre, sacó del Templo de Jerusalén para que el rey, sus dignatarios, sus esposas y sus concubinas bebieran en ellos.
3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of Elohim which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
Entonces le llevaron los vasos de oro que sacaron del Santuario del Templo del ʼElah de Jerusalén. Y el rey, sus dignatarios, sus esposas y sus concubinas bebieron en ellos.
4 They drank wine, and praised the elohim of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
Bebieron vino y alabaron a los ʼelohim de oro, plata, bronce, hierro, piedra y madera.
5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
De repente aparecieron los dedos de una mano de hombre que escribía al frente del candelero sobre lo encalado de la pared del palacio del rey. El rey veía la parte de la mano que escribía.
6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
Entonces el rey palideció, sus pensamientos lo alarmaron, las coyunturas de sus caderas se aflojaron y sus rodillas se golpeaban la una contra otra.
7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
El rey gritó a gran voz que acudieran los encantadores, los caldeos y los adivinos. Y les dijo a los sabios de Babilonia: Cualquiera que lea esta inscripción y me explique su interpretación será vestido de púrpura, tendrá en su cuello un collar de oro y tendrá autoridad como tercero en el reino.
8 Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.
Entonces todos los sabios del rey entraron, pero no pudieron leer la inscripción, ni mostrar al rey su interpretación.
9 Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his masters were astonied.
El rey Belsasar se turbó muchísimo y palideció. Sus dignatarios estaban perplejos.
10 Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his masters, came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
Pero la reina, motivada por las palabras del rey y de sus dignatarios, entró a la sala del banquete y dijo: ¡Vive para siempre, oh rey! No te turben tus pensamientos, ni palidezca tu semblante.
11 There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy elohim; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the elohim, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
En tu reino hay un hombre en el cual vive el Espíritu de los ʼelahs santos. En los días de tu padre fueron halladas en él luz, inteligencia y sabiduría, como la sabiduría de los ʼelahs. El rey Nabucodonosor, tu padre, oh rey, lo constituyó jefe de los magos, astrólogos, caldeos y adivinos,
12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.
porque fueron hallados en él un espíritu superior, ciencia y entendimiento para interpretar sueños, descifrar enigmas y resolver dudas, esto es, en Daniel, al cual el rey llamó Beltsasar. Ahora pues, llámese a Daniel, y él te declarará la interpretación.
13 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?
Entonces Daniel fue llevado ante el rey. Y el rey le preguntó a Daniel: ¿Eres tú aquel Daniel de los hijos de la cautividad de Judá, que mi padre trajo de Judea?
14 I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the elohim is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
Oí con respecto a ti que el espíritu de los ʼelahs santos está en ti, y que fueron hallados en ti luz, entendimiento y mayor sabiduría.
15 And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:
Ahora, sabios y astrólogos fueron traídos a mi presencia para que leyeran esta inscripción y me dieran su interpretación, pero no pudieron mostrarme la interpretación del asunto.
16 And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Oí con respecto a ti que puedes dar interpretaciones y resolver enigmas. Ahora, si puedes leer la inscripción y darme su interpretación, serás vestido de púrpura, tendrás un collar de oro en tu cuello y tendrás autoridad como tercero en el reino.
17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
Entonces Daniel respondió al rey: ¡Tus obsequios sean para ti y da tus recompensas a otro! Leeré la inscripción al rey y le diré la interpretación.
18 O thou king, the most high Elohim gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
Oh rey, el ʼElah Altísimo dio el reino, la grandeza, el esplendor y la majestad a tu padre Nabucodonosor.
19 And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
Por la grandeza que le dio, todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas temían y temblaban ante él. Al que quería mataba y al que quería concedía vida. Al que quería engrandecía y al que quería humillaba.
20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
Pero cuando su corazón se ensoberbeció y su espíritu se endureció en su orgullo, fue depuesto del trono de su reino y despojado de su esplendor.
21 And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high Elohim ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
Fue apartado de entre los hijos de los hombres, su mente se hizo semejante a la de las bestias y su morada fue con los asnos monteses. Le hicieron comer hierba como a buey y su cuerpo fue mojado con el rocío del cielo hasta que reconoció que el ʼElah Altísimo tiene dominio sobre el reino de los hombres y pone al que le place en él.
22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Y tú, su hijo Belsasar, aunque sabías todo esto, no humillaste tu corazón,
23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Master of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy masters, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the elohim of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the Elohim in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
sino te exaltaste contra el ʼAdón del cielo. Trajiste los vasos de su Templo delante de ti. Y tú, tus dignatarios, tus esposas y tus concubinas beben vino en ellos. Además de esto, diste alabanza a ʼelahs de plata, oro, bronce, hierro, piedra y madera, los cuales no ven, ni oyen, ni saben. Pero no glorificaste al ʼElah en cuya mano está tu aliento y tus caminos.
24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Entonces la mano que trazó esta inscripción fue enviada de su presencia.
25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
Esta es la inscripción que fue trazada: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Uparsin.
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; Elohim hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Esta es la interpretación del asunto: Mene: ʼElah contó tu reino y le señaló fin.
27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Tekel: Fuiste pesado en balanza y fuiste hallado falto.
28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
Parsin: Tu reino fue roto y dado a los medos y a los persas.
29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Entonces Belsasar dio órdenes. Vistieron a Daniel de púrpura y [le pusieron] un collar de oro en su cuello. Proclamaron con respecto a él que tenía autoridad y era el tercero en el reino.
30 In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
Aquella misma noche Belsasar, rey de los caldeos, fue asesinado.
31 And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
Darío, el medo, tomó el reino a los 72 años de edad.
