2 Kings 8
1 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for YHWH hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
エリシヤ甞てその子を甦へらせて與へし婦に言しことあり曰く汝起て汝の家族とともに往き汝の寄寓んとおもふ處に寄寓れ其はヱホバ饑饉を呼くだしたまひたれば七年の間この地に臨むべければなりと
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of Elohim: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
是をもて婦起て神の人の言のごとくに爲しその家族とともに往てペリシテ人の地に七年寄寓ぬ
3 And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.
かくて七年を經て後婦人ペリシテ人の地より歸りしが自己の家と田畝のために王に呼もとめんとて往り
4 And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of Elohim, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
時に王は神の人の僕ゲハジにむかひ請ふエリシヤが爲し諸の大なる事等を我に告よと言てこれと談話をる
5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My master, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
即ち彼エリシヤが死人を甦らせしことを王にものがたりをる時にその子を彼が甦らせし婦自己の家と田畝のために王に呼もとめければゲハジ言ふわが主王よ是すなはちその婦人なり是すなはちエリシヤが甦らせしその子なり
6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
王すなはちその婦に尋ねけるにこれを陳たれば王彼のために一人の官吏を派出して言ふ凡て彼に屬する物並に彼がこの地を去し日より今にいたるまでの其田畝の產出物を悉く彼に還せよと
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of Elohim is come hither.
エリシヤ、ダマスコに至れる事あり時にスリアの王ベネハダデ病にかかりをりしがこれにつげて神の人此にきたると言ふ者ありければ
8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of Elohim, and inquire of YHWH by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
王ハザエルに言ふ汝手に禮物をとり往て神の人を迎へ彼によりてヱホバに吾この病は愈るやと言て問へ
9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
是においてハザエルかれを迎へんとて出往きダマスコのもろもろの佳物駱駝に四十駄を禮物に携へて到りて彼の前に立ち曰けるは汝の子スリアの王ベネハダデ我を汝につかはして吾この病は愈るやと言しむ
10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit YHWH hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
エリシヤかれに言けるは往てかれに汝はかならず愈べしと告よ但しヱホバかれはかならず死んと我にしめしたまふなり
11 And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of Elohim wept.
而して神の人瞳子をさだめて彼の羞るまでに見つめ乃て哭いでたれば
12 And Hazael said, Why weepeth my master? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
ハザエルわが主よ何て哭たまふやと言ふにエリシヤ答へけるは我汝がイスラエルの子孫になさんところの害惡を知ばなり即ち汝は彼等の城に火をかけ壯年の人を劍にころし子等を挫ぎ孕女を刳ん
13 And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, YHWH hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
ハザエル言けるは汝の僕は犬なるか何ぞ斯る大なる事をなさんエリシヤ答へけるはヱホバ我にしめしたまふ汝はスリアの王となるにいたらん
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
斯て彼エリシヤを離れて去てその主君にいたるにエリシヤは汝に何と言しやと尋ければ答へて彼汝はかならず愈るあらんと我に告たりと言ふ
15 And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
翌日にいたりてハザエル粗き布をとりて水に浸しこれをもて王の面を覆ひたれば死りハザエルすなはち之にかはりて王となる
16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
イスラエルの王アハブの子ヨラムの五年にはヨシヤパテ尚ユダの王たりき此年にユダの王ヨシヤバテの子ヨラム位に即り
17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
彼は位に即し時三十二歳にして八年の間エルサレムにて世を治めたり
18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of YHWH.
彼はアハブの家のなせるがごとくにイスラエルの王等の道を行へりアハブの女かれの妻なりければなり斯彼はヱホバの目の前に惡をなせしかども
19 Yet YHWH would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
ヱホバその僕ダビデのためにユダを滅すことを好みたまはざりき即ち彼にその子孫によりて恒に光明を與んと言たまひしがごとし
20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
ヨラムの代にエドム叛きてユダの手に服せず自ら王を立たれば
21 So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
ヨラムその一切の戰車をしたがへてザイルに渉りしが遂に夜の中に起あがりて自己を圍めるエドム人を撃ちその戰車の長等を撃り斯して民はその天幕に逃ゆきぬ
22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
エドムは斯叛きてユダの手に服せずなりしが今日まで然り此時にあたりてリブナもまた叛けり
23 And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
ヨラムのその餘の行爲およびその凡て爲たる事等はユダの王の歴代志の書に記さるるにあらずや
24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
ヨラムその先祖等とともに寝りてダビデの邑にその先祖たちと同じく葬られその子アハジアこれに代りて王となれり
25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
イスラエルの王アハブの子ヨラムの十二年にユダの王ヨラムの子アハジア位に即り
26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
アハジアは位に即し時二十二歳にしてエルサレムにて一年世を治めたりその母はイスラエルの王オムリの孫女にして名をアタリヤといふ
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of YHWH, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.
アハジアはアハブの家の道にあゆみアハブの家のごとくにヱホバの目の前に惡をなせり是かれはアハブの家の婿なりければなり
28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth-gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
茲にアハブの子ヨラム自身ゆきてスリアの王ハザエルとギレアデのラモテに戰ひけるがスリア人等ヨラムに傷を負せたり
29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
是に於てヨラム王はそのスリアの王ハザエルと戰ふにあたりてラマに於てスリア人に負せられたるところの傷を療さんとてヱズレルに歸れりユダの王ヨラムの子アハジアはアハブの子ヨラムが病をるをもてヱズレルに下りて之を訪ふ
