2 Kings 2
1 And it came to pass, when YHWH would take up EliYah into heaven by a whirlwind, that EliYah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
১পরে যখন সদাপ্রভু ঘুর্ণিঝড়ে এলিয়কে স্বর্গে তুলে নিতে চাইলেন তখন এলিয় ও ইলীশায় গিল্গল থেকে বের হলেন।
2 And EliYah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for YHWH hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As YHWH liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
২আর এলিয় ইলীশায়কে বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে বৈথেল পর্যন্ত পাঠালেন।” ইলীশায় বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” কাজেই তাঁরা বৈথেলে নেমে গেলেন।
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that YHWH will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
৩তখন বৈথেলের ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা ইলীশায়ের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “আপনি কি জানেন যে, সদাপ্রভু আপনার প্রভুকে আজ আপনার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে যাবেন?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি। তোমরা চুপ করো।”
4 And EliYah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for YHWH hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As YHWH liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
৪এরপর এলিয় তাঁকে বললেন, “ইলীশায়, অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে যিরীহোতে পাঠালেন।” ইলীশায় বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” সুতরাং তাঁরা যিরীহোতে গেলেন।
5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that YHWH will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
৫তখন যিরীহোর ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা ইলীশায়ের কাছে গিয়ে বললেন, “আপনি কি জানেন যে, সদাপ্রভু আপনার প্রভুকে আজ আপনার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে যাবেন?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি। তোমরা চুপ করো।”
6 And EliYah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for YHWH hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As YHWH liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
৬এরপর এলিয় তাঁকে বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে যর্দ্দন নদীর পারে পাঠালেন।” উত্তরে তিনি বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” সুতরাং তাঁরা দুজন চলতে লাগলেন।
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
৭তখন পঞ্চাশজন ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা এসে তাঁদের সামনে দাঁড়ালো, আর যর্দ্দন নদীর ধারে ঐ দুজন দাঁড়ালেন।
8 And EliYah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
৮পরে এলিয় তাঁর গায়ের চাদরটা গুটিয়ে নিয়ে তা দিয়ে জলের উপর আঘাত করলেন, তাতে জল দুদিকে ভাগ হয়ে গেল আর তাঁরা দুজনে শুকনো মাটির উপর দিয়ে পার হয়ে গেলেন।
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that EliYah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
৯পার হয়ে এসে এলিয় ইলীশায়কে বললেন, “আমাকে বল, তোমার কাছ থেকে আমাকে তুলে নেবার আগে আমি তোমার জন্য কি করব?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, আপনার আত্মার দ্বিগুন শক্তি যেন আমি পাই।”
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
১০তিনি বললেন, “তুমি একটি কঠিন জিনিস চেয়েছ; তোমার কাছ থেকে আমাকে নিয়ে যাবার দিন যদি তুমি আমাকে দেখতে পাও তবে তুমি তা পাবে; দেখতে না পেলে পাবে না।”
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and EliYah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
১১পরে এইরকম ঘটল; তাঁরা যেতে যেতে কথা বলছেন, এমন দিন হঠাৎ একটা আগুনের রথ ও আগুনের কতগুলি ঘোড়া এসে তাঁদের দুজনকে আলাদা করে দিল এবং এলিয় একটা ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে স্বর্গে চলে গেলেন।
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
১২আর ইলীশায় তা দেখে চিৎকার করে বললেন, “হে আমার পিতা, হে আমার পিতা, হে ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত রথ ও তার ঘোড়াচালকরা।” পরে তিনি আর তাঁকে দেখতে পেলেন না; তখন তিনি নিজের কাপড় ধরে ছিঁড়ে দুভাগ করলেন।
13 He took up also the mantle of EliYah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
১৩আর তিনি এলিয়ের গা থেকে পড়ে যাওয়া চাদরখানা তুলে নিলেন এবং ফিরে যর্দ্দনের ধারে গিয়ে দাঁড়ালেন।
14 And he took the mantle of EliYah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is YHWH Elohim of EliYah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
১৪পরে সেই চাদরখানা দিয়ে তিনি জলে আঘাত করে বললেন, “এলিয়ের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু কোথায়?” আর তিনিও জলে আঘাত করলে জল দুদিকে ভাগ হয়ে গেল এবং ইলীশায় পার হয়ে গেলেন।
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of EliYah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
১৫তখন যিরীহোর যে ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল তারা বলল, “এলিয়ের আত্মা ইলীশায়ের উপর এসেছে।” পরে তারা তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাঁর সামনে মাটিতে প্রণাম করল।
16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of YHWH hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
১৬আর তাঁকে বলল, “দেখুন, এখানে আপনার পঞ্চাশজন শক্তিশালী দাস আছে; অনুরোধ করি, তারা আপনার প্রভুকে খুঁজতে যাক; কি জানি, সদাপ্রভুর আত্মা তাঁকে তুলে নিয়ে গিয়ে কোন পর্বতে কিংবা কোন উপত্যকায় ফেলে গেছেন।” তিনি বললেন, “পাঠিও না।”
17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
১৭তবুও তারা তাঁকে পীড়াপীড়ি করলে তিনি লজ্জায় পড়ে বললেন, “পাঠাও।” অতএব তারা পঞ্চাশজন লোক পাঠালো; তারা তিন দিন ধরে খোঁজ করেও তাঁকে পেল না।
18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho, ) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
১৮পরে তারা ইলীশায়ের কাছে ফিরে এলো; ইলীশায় তখন যিরীহোতে ছিলেন। তিনি বললেন, “আমি তোমাদেরকে বলেছিলাম যে যেতে হবে না।”
19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my master seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
১৯পরে নগরের লোকেরা ইলীশায়কে বলল, “অনুরোধ করি, দেখুন, এই নগরের জায়গাটা চমৎকার ঠিকই, এটা তো প্রভু দেখছেন; কিন্তু এর জল ভাল নয় আর জমি ফলবান না।”
20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
২০তিনি বললেন, “আমার কাছে একটা নতুন ভাঁড় এনে তাতে লবণ রাখ।” পরে তাঁর কাছে তা আনল।
21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith YHWH, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
২১তিনি বাইরে বেরিয়ে জলের উনুইর কাছে গিয়ে তার মধ্যে লবণ ফেলে দিয়ে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু বলেন, ‘আমি এই জল ভাল করে দিলাম, আজ থেকে এটা আর মৃত্যু ঘটাবে না এবং ফলও নষ্ট হবে না’।”
22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
২২ইলীশায়ের সেই কথামত আজ পর্যন্ত সেই জল ভালই আছে।
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
২৩পরে তিনি সেখান থেকে বৈথেলে গেলেন; আর তিনি পথে যাওয়ার দিন নগর থেকে অনেকগুলো ছেলে এসে তাঁকে ঠাট্টা করে বলতে লাগল, “ও টাকপড়া, উঠে আয়; ও টাকপড়া, উঠে আয়।”
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of YHWH. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
২৪তখন তিনি পিছনের দিকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে তাদেরকে দেখলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর নামে তাদেরকে অভিশাপ দিলেন; আর বন থেকে দুটি ভাল্লূকী বেরিয়ে এসে তাদের মধ্য থেকে বিয়াল্লিশজন বালককে আহত করলো।
25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
২৫এরপর তিনি সেখান থেকে কর্মিল পর্বতে গেলেন এবং সেখান থেকে শমরিয়াতে ফিরে আসলেন।
