2 Chronicles 7
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of YHWH filled the house.
Als Salomo ausgebetet hatte, fuhr vom Himmel Feuer herab und verzehrte das Brand- und die Schlachtopfer. Und die Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllte das Haus.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of YHWH, because the glory of YHWH had filled YHWH 's house.
Die Priester aber konnten das Haus des Herrn nicht betreten. Denn des Herrn Herrlichkeit erfüllte das Haus des Herrn.
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of YHWH upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised YHWH, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
Alle Israeliten aber sahen das Feuer herabfahren und die Herrlichkeit des Herrn im Hause. Da beugten sie sich mit dem Angesicht zur Erde auf das Steinpflaster, beteten an und priesen den Herrn, daß er so gütig sei, weil seine Huld immer währt.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before YHWH.
Der König und das ganze Volk opferten vor dem Herrn Schlachtopfer.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of Elohim.
Der König Salomo brachte 22.000 Rinderschlachtopfer und 120.000 Schafe dar. So weihten der König und das ganze Volk das Gotteshaus ein.
6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of YHWH, which David the king had made to praise YHWH, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
Die Priester aber standen auf ihren Posten, ebenso die Leviten mit des Herrn Musikgeräten, die der König David gemacht hatte, um dem Herrn dafür zu danken, daß seine Huld immer währt. So trugen sie Davids Lobpreis vor, und die Priester bliesen die Trompeten, während ganz Israel dabeistand.
7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of YHWH: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.
Und Salomo weihte den mittleren Teil des Vorhofes vor dem Hause des Herrn. Denn er bereitete hier Brandopfer und die Fettstücke der Mahlopfer, weil der eherne Altar, den Salomo gemacht, die Brand- und Speiseopfer und die Fettstücke nicht hatte fassen können.
8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.
So beging Salomo zu jener Zeit das Fest sieben Tage lang, und ganz Israel mit ihm, eine sehr große Gemeinde, von der Gegend um Hamat bis zum Bach Ägyptens.
9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
Am achten Tage feierten sie das Schlußfest. Denn die Altarweihe hatten sie sieben Tage gefeiert. Das Fest aber währte sieben Tage.
10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that YHWH had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
Am dreiundzwanzigsten Tage des siebten Monats aber entließ er das Volk zu seinen Zelten, fröhlich und guten Mutes über das Gute, das der Herr David und Salomo und seinem Volke Israel erwiesen hatte.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of YHWH, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of YHWH, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
Also vollendete Salomo das Haus des Herrn und das Königshaus. Alles, was Salomo im Sinn hatte, im Hause des Herrn und in seinem Hause zu tun, war ihm gelungen.
12 And YHWH appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
Da erschien der Herr dem Salomo des Nachts und sprach zu ihm: "Ich habe dein Gebet erhört und diesen Ort zur Opferstätte mir erwählt.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
Verschließe ich den Himmel, daß kein Regen fällt, und schicke ich die Heuschrecken, die Gegend abzufressen, und sende ich zu meinem Volk die Pest,
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
doch wenn mein Volk, das meinen Namen trägt, sich demütigt, und suchen betend sie mein Angesicht, von ihren schlimmen Pfaden lassend, alsdann erhöre ich vom Himmel her, verzeihe ihre Sünde und schaffe Heilung ihrem Lande.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Nun sollen meine Augen offenstehen und meine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet an dieser Stätte.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Denn jetzt erwähle ich dies Haus und weihe es, auf daß mein Name hier für immer sei und meine Augen und mein Herz für immer weilen.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statues and my judgments;
Und wandelst du vor mir so, wie dein Vater David einst gewandelt, und tust, ganz wie ich dir geboten, und achtest meine Vorschriften und Satzungen,
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
alsdann bestätige ich den Thron deines Königtums, wie ich mit deinem Vater David einen Bund geschlossen: 'Nie fehle dir ein Mann, der Israel beherrscht.'
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other elohim, and worship them;
Doch fallt ihr ab und verlasset meine Vorschriften und Satzungen, die ich euch vorgelegt, und dienet anderen Göttern und werft euch vor sie hin,
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
dann reiße ich sie weg von meiner Scholle, die ich ihnen einst verliehen, und weg von meinem Angesicht verwerfe ich das Haus, das meinem Namen ich geweiht, und mache es zum Hohn und Spott für alle Völker.
21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath YHWH done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
Und über dieses Haus, das so erhaben war, entsetzt sich jeder, der daran vorübergeht, und fragt er dann: 'Weswegen hat der Herr diesem Land und diesem Hause so getan?'
22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook YHWH Elohim of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other elohim, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them
dann sagen sie: 'Weil sie den Herrn, ihrer Väter Gott, verlassen, der einst sie aus Ägypterland geführt, und sich alsdann an andere Götter hielten und sie anbeteten und ihnen dienten, deswegen hat der Herr all dieses Unheil aber sie gebracht.'"
