1 Samuel 7
1 And the men of Kirjath-jearim came, and fetched up the ark of YHWH, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of YHWH.
तब क़रयत या'रीम के लोग आए और ख़ुदावन्द के संदूक़ को लेकर अबीनदाब के घर में जो टीले पर है, लाए, और उसके बेटे एलियाज़र को पाक किया कि वह ख़ुदावन्द के संदूक़ की निगरानी करे।
2 And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after YHWH.
और जिस दिन से संदूक़ क़रयत या'रीम में रहा, तब से एक मुद्दत हो गई, या'नी बीस बरस गुज़रे और इस्राईल का सारा घराना ख़ुदावन्द के पीछे नौहा करता रहा।
3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto YHWH with all your hearts, then put away the strangeelohim and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto YHWH, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
और समुएल ने इस्राईल के सारे घराने से कहा कि “अगर तुम अपने सारे दिल से ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ फिरते हो तो ग़ैर मा'बूदों और 'इस्तारात को अपने बीच से दूर करो और ख़ुदावन्द के लिए अपने दिलों को मुसत'इद करके सिर्फ़ उसकी इबादत करो, और वह फ़िलिस्तियों के हाथ से तुमको रिहाई देगा।”
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served YHWH only.
तब बनी इस्राईल ने बा'लीम और 'इस्तारात को दूर किया, और सिर्फ़ ख़ुदावन्द की इबादत करने लगे।
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto YHWH.
फिर समुएल ने कहा कि “सब इस्राईल को मिस्फ़ाह में जमा' करो, और मैं तुम्हारे लिए ख़ुदावन्द से दुआ करूंगा।”
6 And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before YHWH, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against YHWH. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
तब वह सब मिस्फ़ाह में इकठ्ठा हुए और पानी भर कर ख़ुदावन्द के आगे उँडेला, और उस दिन रोज़ा रख्खा और वहाँ कहने लगे, कि “हमने ख़ुदावन्द का गुनाह किया है।” और समुएल मिस्फ़ाह में बनी इस्राईल की 'अदालत करता था।
7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, rulers of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
और जब फ़िलिस्तियों ने सुना कि बनी इस्राईल मिस्फ़ाह में इकट्ठे हुए हैं, तो उनके सरदारों ने बनी इस्राईल पर हमला किया, और जब बनी — इस्राईल ने यह सुना तो वह फ़िलिस्तियों से डरे।
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto YHWH our Elohim for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
और बनी — इस्राईल ने समुएल से कहा, “ख़ुदावन्द हमारे ख़ुदा के सामने हमारे लिए फ़रियाद करना न छोड़, ताकि वह हमको फ़िलिस्तियों के हाथ से बचाए।”
9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto YHWH: and Samuel cried unto YHWH for Israel; and YHWH heard him.
और समुएल ने एक दूध पीता बर्रा लिया और उसे पूरी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानी के तौर पर ख़ुदावन्द के सामने पेश किया, और समुएल बनी — इस्राईल के लिए ख़ुदावन्द के सामने फ़रियाद करता रहा और ख़ुदावन्द ने उस की सुनी।
10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but YHWH thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
और जिस वक़्त समुएल उस सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानी को अदा कर रहा था उस वक़्त फ़िलिस्ती इस्राईलियों से जंग करने को नज़दीक आए, लेकिन ख़ुदावन्द फ़िलिस्तियों के उपर उसी दिन बड़ी कड़क के साथ गरजा और उनको घबरा दिया; और उन्होंने इस्रालियों के आगे शिकस्त खाई।
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Beth-car.
और इस्राईल के लोगों ने मिस्फ़ाह से निकल कर फ़िलिस्तियों को दौड़ाया, और बैतकर्र के नीचे तक उन्हें मारते चले गए।
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath YHWH helped us.
तब समुएल ने एक पत्थर ले कर उसे मिस्फ़ाह और शेन के बीच में खड़ा किया, और उसका नाम इबन-'अज़र यह कहकर रख्खा, “कि यहाँ तक ख़ुदावन्द ने हमारी मदद की।”
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of YHWH was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
इस लिए फ़िलिस्ती मग़लूब हुए और इस्राईल की सरहद में फिर न आए, और समुएल की ज़िन्दगी भर ख़ुदावन्द का हाथ फ़िलिस्तियों के ख़िलाफ़ रहा।
14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
और अक़रून से जात तक के शहर जिनको फ़िलिस्तियों ने इस्राईलियों से ले लिया था, वह फिर इस्रालियों के क़ब्ज़े में आए; और इस्राईलियों ने उनकी 'इलाक़ा भी फ़िलिस्तियों के हाथ से छुड़ा लिया और इस्राईलियों और अमोरियों में सुलह थी।
15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
और समुएल अपनी ज़िन्दगी भर इस्राईलियों की 'अदालत करता रहा।
16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.
और वह हर साल बैतएल और जिल्जाल और मिस्फ़ाह में दौरा करता, और उन सब मक़ामों में बनी — इस्राईल की 'अदालत करता था।
17 And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto YHWH.
फिर वह रामा को लौट आता क्यूँकि वहाँ उसका घर था, और वहाँ इस्राईल की 'अदालत करता था, और वहीं उसने ख़ुदावन्द के लिए एक मज़बह बनाया।
