< 1 Samuel 28 >
1 And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
Le ŋkeke mawo me la, Filistitɔwo ƒo ƒu woƒe aʋakɔwo be woawɔ aʋa kple Israel. Akis gblɔ na David be, “Nyae be wò kple wò ameawo miakplɔm ɖo anɔ nye aʋakɔwo dome.”
2 And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
David ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ekema wò ŋutɔ àkpɔe na ɖokuiwò, nu si wò dɔla ate ŋu awɔ.” Akis ɖo eŋu be, “Enyo matsɔ wò awɔ ŋunyedzɔlae hena wò agbemeŋkekewo katã.”
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
Azɔ la, Samuel ku eye Israel dukɔ blibo la fae, woɖii ɖe wo de le Rama. Fia Saul ɖe ŋɔliyɔlawo kple afakalawo katã ɖa le Israelnyigba la dzi.
4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.
Filistitɔwo ƒu asaɖa anyi ɖe Sunem, ke Saul ƒo Israel blibo la nu ƒu eye woƒu asaɖa anyi ɖe Gilead.
5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
Esi Saul kpɔ Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋakɔ ƒe agbɔsɔsɔ la, dzidzi ƒoe eye wòvɔ̃ ŋutɔ.
6 And when Saul inquired of YHWH, YHWH answered him not, neither by dreams nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
Ebia nu si wòawɔ la Yehowa, ke Yehowa meɖo nya aɖeke ŋu nɛ to drɔ̃ekuku me, alo to Urim dzi loo alo to nyagblɔɖilawo dzi o.
7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
Ale Saul gblɔ na eƒe subɔlawo be, “Midi nyɔnu aɖe si nye ŋɔliyɔla la nam, ale be mayi egbɔ aɖabia nu.” Dɔlawo gblɔ nɛ be, “Ŋɔliyɔla aɖe le Endor.”
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
Ale Saul trɔ eƒe nɔnɔme hedo awu dzodzro aɖe le eƒe fiawu teƒe. Eyi ɖe ŋɔliyɔla la ƒe aƒe me le zã me kple eƒe subɔla eve. Saul gblɔ na ŋɔliyɔla la be, “Bia gbe gbɔgbɔ aɖe nam eye nàyɔ ame si ŋkɔ mayɔ na wò la nam.”
9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
Gake nyɔnu la gblɔ nɛ be, “Le nyateƒe me ènya nu si Saul wɔ. Eɖe afakalawo kple ŋɔliyɔlawo ɖa le anyigba la dzi. Nu ka ŋutie nètre mɔ na nye agbe be yeahe ku vɛ nam?”
10 And Saul sware to her by YHWH, saying, As YHWH liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
Saul tsɔ Yehowa ka atam nɛ be, “Meta Yehowa ƒe agbe be womahe to na wò ɖe nu sia ta o.”
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
Nyɔnu la biae be, “Ame kae nèdi be mayɔ na ye?” Saul do eŋu be, “Yɔ Samuel nam.”
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
Esi nyɔnu la kpɔ Samuel la, edo ɣli sesĩe eye wògblɔ na Saul be, “Nu ka ŋutie nèblem ɖo? Wòe nye Saul!”
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw Elohim ascending out of the earth.
Fia Saul gblɔ nɛ be, “Mègana dzidzi naƒo wò o! Nu ka nèkpɔ?” Ŋɔliyɔla la ɖo eŋu be, “Mekpɔ gbɔgbɔ aɖe wòle dodom tso tome gbɔna.”
14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
Saul bia be, “Aleke eƒe dzedzeme le?” Nyɔnu la ɖo eŋu be, “Ame si gbɔna la nye amegãɖeɖi si do awu ʋlaya.” Tete Saul dze sii be Samuel ye eye wodze klo tsyɔ mo anyi.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and Elohim is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
Samuel bia Saul be, “Nu ka ta nèɖe fu nam heyɔm vɛ?” Saul ɖo eŋu be, “Elabena meɖo xaxa gã aɖe me. Filistitɔwo gaho aʋa ɖe mía ŋu, ke Mawu gblẽm ɖi eye meɖo nya aɖeke ŋu to nyagblɔɖilawo dzi loo alo to drɔ̃ekuku me o. Eya ta meva yɔ wò be nàgblɔ nu si mawɔ la nam.”
16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing YHWH is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
Samuel ɖo eŋu be, “Nu ka ta nàbiam esi Yehowa gblẽ wò ɖi eye wòzu wò futɔ?
17 And YHWH hath done to him, as he spake by me: for YHWH hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
Yehowa wɔ nya si wògblɔ ɖi to dzinye la dzi. Yehowa vuvu fiaɖuƒe la le asiwò me eye wòtsɔe na hawòviwo dometɔ ɖeka, David.
18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of YHWH, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath YHWH done this thing unto thee this day.
Esiawo katã va dziwò elabena mèwɔ Yehowa ƒe ɖoɖowo dzi esi wòdo dɔmedzoe kaɖikaɖi ɖe Amalekitɔwo ŋu o.
19 Moreover YHWH will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: YHWH also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
Yehowa atsɔ wò kple Israel blibo la ade asi na Filistitɔwo eye etsɔ la wò kple viwò ŋutsuwo miava nɔ gbɔnye le afii. Yehowa atsɔ Israel ƒe aʋakɔ la hã ade asi na Filistitɔwo.”
20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
Saul mlɔ anyigba hedra ɖe anyigba azɔ, ʋaʋã meganɔ eŋu o, le Samuel ƒe nyawo ta. Dɔwuame hã na ŋusẽ vɔ le eŋu elabena meɖu naneke ŋkeke blibo la o.
21 And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
Esi ŋɔliyɔla la kpɔ ale si vɔvɔ̃ ɖoe la egblɔ be, “Amegã, metsɔ nye agbe ke eye mewɔ wò ɖoɖo dzi.
22 Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.
Azɔ la, nu si magblɔe nye be nàna mana nane wò nàɖu, ale be ŋusẽ naɖo ŋuwò hena wò mɔzɔzɔ yi wò nɔƒe.”
23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
Ke Saul be, “Nyemaɖu o.” Eŋumewo ɖe kuku nɛ kpe ɖe ŋɔliyɔla la ŋu va se ɖe esime wòlɔ̃. Efɔ azɔ eye wònɔ abati dzi.
24 And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and did bake unleavened bread thereof:
Nyivi dami aɖe nɔ nyɔnu la si, eɖe abla wui, tsɔ amɔ maʋamaʋã wɔ abolo
25 And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
eye wòtsɔ nuɖuɖu la vɛ na fia la kple eŋumewo woɖu eye wodzo le zã la me.
