1 Samuel 15
1 Samuel also said unto Saul, YHWH sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of YHWH.
और समुएल ने साऊल से कहा कि “ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे भेजा है कि मैं तुझे मसह करूँ ताकि तू उसकी क़ौम इस्राईल का बादशाह हो, इसलिए अब तू ख़ुदावन्द की बातें सुन।
2 Thus saith YHWH of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज यूँ फ़रमाता है कि मुझे इसका ख़्याल है कि 'अमालीक़ ने इस्राईल से क्या किया और जब यह मिस्र से निकल आए तो वह रास्ते में उनका मुख़ालिफ़ हो कर आया।
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
इस लिए अब तू जा और 'अमालीक़ को मार और जो कुछ उनका है, सब को बिलकुल मिटा दे, और उनपर रहम मत कर बल्कि मर्द और 'औरत नन्हे, बच्चे और दूध पीते, गाय बैल और भेड़ बकरियाँ, ऊँट और गधे सब को क़त्ल कर डाल।”
4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
चुनाँचे साऊल ने लोगों को जमा' किया और तलाइम में उनको गिना; इस लिए वह दो लाख पियादे, और यहूदाह के दस हज़ार जवान थे।
5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
और साऊल 'अमालीक़ के शहर को आया और वादी के बीच घात लगा कर बैठा।
6 And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
और साऊल ने क़ीनियों से कहा कि तुम चल दो 'अमालीक़ियों के बीच से निकल जाओ; ऐसा न हो कि मैं तुमको उनके साथ हलाक कर डालूँ इसलिए कि तुम सब इस्राईलियों से जब वह मिस्र से निकल आए महेरबानी के साथ पेश आए। इसलिए क़ीनी अमालीक़ियों में से निकल गए।
7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
और साऊल ने 'अमालीक़ियों को हवीला से शोर तक जो मिस्र के सामने है मारा।
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
और 'अमालीक़ियों के बादशाह अजाज को जीता पकड़ा और सब लोगों को तलवार की धार से मिटा दिया।
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
लेकिन साऊल ने और उन लोगों ने अजाज को और अच्छी अच्छी भेड़ बकरियों गाय — बैलों और मोटे मोटे बच्चों और बर्रों को और जो कुछ अच्छा था उसे जीता रख्खा और उनको बरबाद करना न चाहा लेकिन उन्होंने हर एक चीज़ को जो नाक़िस और निकम्मी थी बरबाद कर दिया।
10 Then came the word of YHWH unto Samuel, saying,
तब ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम समुएल को पहुँचा कि।
11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto YHWH all night.
मुझे अफ़सोस है कि मैंने साऊल को बादशाह होने के लिए मुक़र्रर किया है, क्यूँकि वह मेरी पैरवी से फिर गया है, और उसने मेरे हुक्म नहीं माने, तब समुएल का ग़ुस्सा भड़का और वह सारी रात ख़ुदावन्द से फ़रियाद करता रहा।
12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
और समुएल सवेरे उठा कि सुबह को साऊल से मुलाक़ात करे, और समुएल को ख़बर मिली, कि साऊल करमिल को आया था, और अपने लिए लाट खड़ी की और फिर गुज़रता हुआ जिल्जाल को चला गया है।
13 And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of YHWH: I have performed the commandment of YHWH.
फिर समुएल साऊल के पास गया और साऊल ने उस से कहा, “तू ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से मुबारक हुआ, मैंने ख़ुदावन्द के हुक्म पर 'अमल किया।”
14 And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
समुएल ने कहा, “फिर यह भेड़ बकरियों का मिम्याना और गाय, और बैलों का बनबाना कैसा है, जो मैं सुनता हूँ?”
15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto YHWH thy Elohim; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
साऊल ने कहा कि “यह लोग उनको 'अमालीक़ियों के यहाँ से ले आए है, इसलिए कि लोगों ने अच्छी अच्छी भेड़ बकरियों और गाय बैलों को जीता रख्खा ताकि उनको ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा के लिए ज़बह करें और बाक़ी सब को तो हम ने बरबाद कर दिया।”
16 Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what YHWH hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
तब समुएल ने साऊल से कहा, “ठहर जा और जो कुछ ख़ुदावन्द ने आज की रात मुझ से कहा है, वह मैं तुझे बताऊँगा।” उसने कहा, “बताइये।”
17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and YHWH anointed thee king over Israel?
समुएल ने कहा, “अगर्चे तू अपनी ही नज़र में हक़ीर था तो भी क्या तू बनी इस्राईल के क़बीलों का सरदार न बनाया गया? और ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझे मसह किया ताकि तू बनी इस्राईल का बादशाह हो।
18 And YHWH sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
और ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझे सफ़र पर भेजा और कहा कि जा और गुनहगार 'अमालीक़ियों को मिटा कर और जब तक वह फ़ना न हो जायें उन से लड़ता रह।
19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of YHWH, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of YHWH?
तब तूने ख़ुदावन्द की बात क्यूँ न मानी बल्कि लूट पर टूट कर वह काम कर गुज़रा जो ख़ुदावन्द की नज़र में बुरा है?”
20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of YHWH, and have gone the way which YHWH sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
साऊल ने समुएल से कहा, “मैंने तो ख़ुदावन्द का हुक्म माना और जिस रास्ते पर ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे भेजा चला, और 'अमालीक़ के बादशाह अजाज को ले आया हूँ, और 'अमालीक़ियों को बरबाद कर दिया।
21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto YHWH thy Elohim in Gilgal.
जब लोग लूट के माल में से भेड़ बकरियाँ और गाय बैल या'नी अच्छी अच्छी चीज़ें जिनको बरबाद करना था, ले आए ताकि जिल्जाल में ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा के सामने क़ुर्बानी करें।”
22 And Samuel said, Hath YHWH as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of YHWH? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
समुएल ने कहा, “क्या ख़ुदावन्द सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियों और जबीहों से इतना ही ख़ुश होता है जितना इस बात से कि ख़ुदावन्द का हुक्म माना जाए? देख फ़रमा बरदारी क़ुर्बानी से और बात मानना मेंढों की चर्बी से बेहतर है।
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of YHWH, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
क्यूँकि बग़ावत और जादूगरी बराबर हैं और सरकशी ऐसी ही है जैसी मूरतों और बुतों की इबादत इस लिए चूँकि तूने ख़ुदावन्द के हुक्म को रद्द किया है इसलिए उसने भी तुझे रद्द किया है कि बादशाह न रहे।”
24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of YHWH, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
साऊल ने समुएल से कहा, मैंने गुनाह किया कि मैंने ख़ुदावन्द के फ़रमान को और तेरी बातों को टाल दिया है, क्यूँकि मैं लोगों से डरा और उनकी बात सुनी।
25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship YHWH.
इसलिए अब में तेरी मिन्नत करता हूँ कि मेरा गुनाह बख़्श दे, और मेरे साथ लौट चल ताकि मैं ख़ुदावन्द को सिज्दा करूँ।
26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of YHWH, and YHWH hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
समुएल ने साऊल से कहा, “मैं तेरे साथ नहीं लौटूँगा क्यूँकि तूने ख़ुदावन्द के कलाम को रद्द कर दिया है और ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझे रद्द किया, कि इस्राईल का बादशाह न रहे।”
27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
और जैसे ही समुएल जाने को मुड़ा साऊल ने उसके जुब्बा का दामन पकड़ लिया, और वह फट गया।
28 And Samuel said unto him, YHWH hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
तब समुएल ने उससे कहा, “ख़ुदावन्द ने इस्राईल की बादशाही तुझ से आज ही चाक कर के छीन ली और तेरे एक पड़ोसी को जो तुझ से बेहतर है दे दी है।
29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.
और जो इस्राईल की ताक़त है, वह न तो झूट बोलता और न पछताता है, क्यूँकि वह इंसान नही है कि पछताए।”
30 Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship YHWH thy Elohim.
उसने कहा, “मैंने गुनाह तो किया है तो भी मेरी क़ौम के बुज़ुर्गों और इस्राईल के आगे मेरी 'इज्ज़त कर और मेरे साथ, लौट कर चल ताकि मैं ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा को सिज्दा करूँ।”
31 So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped YHWH.
तब समुएल लौट कर साऊल के पीछे हो लिया और साऊल ने ख़ुदावन्द को सिज्दा किया।
32 Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
तब समुएल ने कहा कि 'अमालीक़ियों के बादशाह अजाज को यहाँ मेरे पास लाओ, इसलिए अजाज ख़ुशी ख़ुशी उसके पास आया और अजाज कहने लगा, हक़ीक़त में मौत की कड़वाहट गुज़र गयी।
33 And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before YHWH in Gilgal.
समुएल ने कहा, जैसे तेरी तलवार ने 'औरतों को बे औलाद किया वैसे ही तेरी माँ 'औरतों में बे औलाद होगी और समुएल ने अजाज को जिल्जाल में ख़ुदावन्द के सामने टुकड़े टुकड़े किया।
34 Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
और समुएल रामा को चला गया और साऊल अपने घर साऊल के ज़िबा' को गया।
35 And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and YHWH repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
और समुएल अपने मरते दम तक साऊल को फिर देखने न गया क्यूँकि साऊल के लिए ग़म खाता रहा, और ख़ुदावन्द साऊल को बनी इस्राईल का बादशाह करके दुखी हुआ।
