1 Chronicles 13
1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
Entonces David tomó consejo con los capitanes de los millares y de los cientos, y con todos los príncipes.
2 And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of YHWH our Elohim, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
Y dijo David a todo la congregación de Israel: Si os parece bien y del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, enviaremos a todas partes a llamar nuestros hermanos que han quedado en todas las tierras de Israel, y a los sacerdotes y levitas que están con ellos en sus ciudades y ejidos que se junten con nosotros;
3 And let us bring again the ark of our Elohim to us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
y traigamos el arca de nuestro Dios a nosotros, porque desde el tiempo de Saúl no hemos hecho caso de ella.
4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
Y dijo toda la congregación que se hiciese así, porque la cosa parecía bien a todo el pueblo.
5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hamath, to bring the ark of Elohim from Kirjath-jearim.
Entonces juntó David a todo Israel, desde Sihor de Egipto hasta entrar en Hamat, para que trajesen el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim.
6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of Elohim YHWH, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
Y subió David con todo Israel a Baala de Quiriat-jearim, que es en Judá, para pasar de allí el arca del SEÑOR Dios que habita entre los querubines, sobre la cual su nombre es invocado.
7 And they carried the ark of Elohim in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
Y llevaron el arca sobre un carro nuevo de la casa de Abinadab, y Uza y su hermano guiaban el carro.
8 And David and all Israel played before Elohim with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
Y David y todo Israel hacían alegrías delante de Dios con todas sus fuerzas, con canciones, arpas, salterios, tamboriles, címbalos y trompetas.
9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
Y cuando llegaron a la era de Quidón, Uza extendió su mano al arca para tenerla, porque los bueyes se apartaban.
10 And the anger of YHWH was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before Elohim.
Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió contra Uza, y lo hirió, porque había extendido su mano al arca; y murió allí delante de Dios.
11 And David was displeased, because YHWH had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.
Y David tuvo pesar, porque el SEÑOR había hecho rotura en Uza; por lo que llamó aquel lugar Pérez-uza ( división o rotura de Uza ), hasta hoy.
12 And David was afraid of Elohim that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of Elohim home to me?
Y David temió a Dios aquel día, y dijo: ¿Cómo he de traer a casa conmigo el arca de Dios?
13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
Y no trajo David el arca a su casa en la ciudad de David, sino la llevó a casa de Obed-edom geteo.
14 And the ark of Elohim remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And YHWH blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
Y el arca estuvo en casa de Obed-edom, en su casa, tres meses; y bendijo el SEÑOR la casa de Obed-edom, y todas las cosas que tenía.
