Psalms 89
1 I WILL sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Unterweisung von Ethan, dem Esrachiter. Von Jehovahs Barmherzigkeit will ich ewiglich singen, will Deine Wahrheit zu wissen tun zu Geschlecht und Geschlecht mit meinem Munde.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
Denn ewiglich, sage ich, wird die Barmherzigkeit aufgebaut; durch sie festigst Du in den Himmeln Deine Wahrheit:
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Ich habe mit Meinem Auserwählten einen Bund geschlossen, geschworen Meinem Knechte David.
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Selah)
Auf ewig festige Ich deinen Samen und baue deinen Thron für Geschlecht und Geschlecht. (Selah)
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
Und die Himmel werden Deine Wunder bekennen, o Jehovah, auch Deine Wahrheit in der Versammlung der Heiligen.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord?
Denn wer in den Ätherkreisen stellt sich Jehovah gleich? ist Jehovah gleich unter den Söhnen der Götter?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
Gott ist ein Grauen im großen Geheimrat der Heiligen, und furchtbar über alle um Ihn her.
8 O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
Jehovah, Gott der Heerscharen, wer ist mächtig wie Du, Jah, und Deine Wahrheit um Dich her?
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
Du herrschest über des Meeres Übermut; wenn es seine Wogen erhebt, beruhigst Du sie.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
Du zerstoßest Rachab wie den Erschlagenen, mit dem Arm Deiner Stärke versprengst Du Deine Feinde.
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
Dein sind die Himmel, Dein auch die Erde; die Welt und ihre Fülle, Du hast sie gegründet.
12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
Nord und Süd, Du schufest sie, Thabor und Chermon jauchzen in Deinem Namen.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Dein ist ein Arm mit Macht, stark ist Deine Hand, erhöht Deine Rechte.
14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Gerechtigkeit und Recht sind Deines Thrones Festigung, Barmherzigkeit und Wahrheit kommen hervor vor Dein Angesicht.
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.
Selig das Volk, das den Jubelruf kennt, Jehovah, im Lichte Deines Angesichts wandeln sie.
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
In Deinem Namen frohlocken sie den ganzen Tag, und in Deiner Gerechtigkeit werden sie erhöht.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
Weil Du der Schmuck bist ihrer Stärke, und nach Deinem Wohlgefallen unser Horn erhöhst.
18 For the Lord is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Denn unser Schild gehört Jehovah und dem Heiligen Israels, unserem König.
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Damals redetest Du im Gesichte zu Deinem Heiligen und sprachst: Ich habe Beistand auf den Helden gelegt, habe Meinen Auserwählten erhöht aus dem Volk.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Ich habe gefunden David, Meinen Knecht, mit dem Öl Meiner Heiligkeit ihn gesalbt.
21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
Mit ihm soll Meine Hand fest sein, auch Mein Arm ihn stärken.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Der Feind soll ihn nicht übervorteilen, und der Verkehrtheit Sohn soll ihn nicht demütigen.
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
Und vor seinem Angesicht will seine Dränger Ich zerstoßen, und will schlagen, die ihn hassen.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Und Meine Wahrheit und Meine Barmherzigkeit soll mit ihm sein, und in Meinem Namen sich sein Horn erhöhen.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Und in das Meer will seine Hand Ich legen, und seine Rechte in die Flüsse.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Er wird Mich anrufen: Mein Vater bist Du, mein Gott und meines Heiles Felsen.
27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Auch will Ich ihn zum Erstgeborenen geben, zum Allerhöchsten den Königen der Erde.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Auf ewig will Ich ihm behalten Meine Barmherzigkeit, und Mein Bund soll ihm bewährt sein.
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Und Ich setze ihm Samen auf immerdar, und seinen Thron, wie der Himmel Tage.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Wenn seine Söhne Mein Gesetz verlassen und nicht in Meinen Rechten wandeln.
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
Wenn sie entweihen Meine Satzungen, und Meine Gebote nicht halten,
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
So will Ich mit der Rute ihre Übertretung heimsuchen, und mit Plagen ihre Missetat.
33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Aber Meine Barmherzigkeit werde Ich nicht bei ihm zunichte machen und Meine Wahrheit nicht zur Lüge machen.
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Ich werde nicht Meinen Bund entweihen, und nicht ändern, was aus Meinen Lippen ist ausgegangen.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
Einmal habe Ich bei Meiner Heiligkeit geschworen. Ich will David nicht Falsches reden.
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Sein Same soll sein ewiglich, und wie die Sonne vor Mir sein Thron,
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. (Selah)
Wie der Mond soll er gefestigt sein ewiglich, ein treuer Zeuge an dem Wolkenhimmel. (Selah)
38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
Und Du hast verworfen und verschmäht, hast gewütet wider Deinen Gesalbten.
39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
Du hast niedergestoßen den Bund mit Deinem Knechte, hast zur Erde entweiht sein Diadem.
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
Du durchbrachst alle seine Mauern, Du hast seine Festungen gesetzt in Entsetzen.
41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
Ihn plündern alle, die des Weges vorüberziehen, zur Schmach ist er geworden seinen Nachbarn.
42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Du hast erhöht die Rechte seiner Dränger, hast fröhlich gemacht alle seine Feinde.
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Du wandtest zurück die Schärfe seines Schwertes, und ließest ihn im Streite nicht bestehen.
44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Du hast weggeschafft seine Reinheit und seinen Thron gestürzt zur Erde.
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
Du hast die Tage seiner Jugendzeit verkürzt, ihn mit Scham umhüllt. (Selah)
46 How long, Lord? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Wie lange willst Du noch, Jehovah, Dich verbergen, Deinen Grimm wie Feuer brennen lassen immerdar?
47 Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
Gedenke, was meine Lebenszeit ist! zu welcher Eitelkeit Du erschaffen alle Söhne des Menschen!
48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Welcher Mann lebt und sieht nicht den Tod, der seine Seele kann entrinnen lassen aus der Hand der Hölle! (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
Wo ist Deine frühere Barmherzigkeit, Herr, die Du bei Deiner Wahrheit David zugeschworen hast?
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
Gedenke, Herr, der Schmach Deiner Knechte, daß ich in meinem Busen trage die vielen Völker.
51 Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Lord; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
Womit geschmäht Deine Feinde, o Jehovah, womit sie schmähen die Fußstapfen Deines Gesalbten.
52 Blessed be the Lord for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
Gesegnet sei Jehovah in Ewigkeit! Amen und Amen.
