Psalms 129

1 MANY a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

“मेरो युवावस्थादेखि नै तिनीहरूले मलाई आक्रमण गरेका छन्,” इस्राएलले भनोस् ।

2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

“मेरो युवावस्थादेखि नै तिनीहरूले मलाई आक्रमण गरेका छन्, तापनि तिनीहरूले मलाई पराजित गरेका छैनन् ।

3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

हलो जोत्‍नेहरूले मेरो ढाडमा जोते । तिमीहरूले आफ्‍ना हलोको डोबलाई लामो बनाए ।

4 The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

परमप्रभु धर्मी हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँले दुष्‍टहरूका डोरीहरू काट्नुभएको छ ।”

5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

सियोनलाई घृणा गर्नेहरू सबै जना लाजमा परून् र फर्केर जाऊन् ।

6 Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

तिनीहरू घरमाथिका घाँसहरूजस्ता होऊन् जुन बढ्नअगि नै ओइलाउँछ,

7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

जसले कटनी गर्नेको हात भर्न सक्दैन वा अन्‍नको बिटा बाँध्‍नेको छाती ढाक्‍न सक्दैन ।

8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.

त्यो बाटो हिंड्‍नेहरूले यसो नभनून्, “परमप्रभुको आशिष्‌‌‌ तिमीमाथि रहोस् । तिमीलाई परमप्रभुको नाउँमा हामी आशिष्‌ ‌‌दिन्छौं ।”
