Proverbs 29
1 HE, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
൧തുടർച്ചയായി ശാസന കേട്ടിട്ടും ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നവൻ നീക്കുപോക്കില്ലാതെ പെട്ടെന്ന് നശിച്ചുപോകും.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
൨നീതിമാന്മാർ വർദ്ധിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുമ്പോൾ ജനം ഞരങ്ങുന്നു.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
൩ജ്ഞാനം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവൻ തന്റെ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വേശ്യകളോട് സഹവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ തന്റെ സമ്പത്ത് നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
൪രാജാവ് ന്യായപാലനത്താൽ രാജ്യത്തെ നിലനിർത്തുന്നു; നികുതി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
൫കൂട്ടുകാരനോട് മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്നവൻ അവന്റെ കാലിന് ഒരു വല വിരിക്കുന്നു.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
൬ദുഷ്ക്കർമ്മി തന്റെ ലംഘനത്തിൽ കുടുങ്ങുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
൭നീതിമാൻ അഗതികളുടെ കാര്യം അറിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനോ പരിജ്ഞാനം ഇന്നതെന്ന് അറിയുന്നില്ല.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
൮പരിഹാസികൾ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കോപാഗ്നി ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനികൾ ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
൯ജ്ഞാനിക്കും ഭോഷനും തമ്മിൽ തർക്കം ഉണ്ടായിട്ട് ഭോഷൻ കോപിക്കുകയോ ചിരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തേക്കാം; എന്നാൽ അവിടെ ശാന്തത ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
൧൦രക്തപാതകന്മാർ നിഷ്ക്കളങ്കനെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവരോ അവന്റെ പ്രാണരക്ഷ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
൧൧മൂഢൻ തന്റെ കോപം മുഴുവനും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനി അതിനെ അടക്കി ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
൧൨അധിപതി നുണ കേൾക്കുവാൻ തുടങ്ങിയാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെല്ലാവരും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരാകും.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
൧൩ദരിദ്രനും പീഡകനും തമ്മിൽ എതിർപെടുന്നു; ഇരുവരുടെയും കണ്ണ് യഹോവ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
൧൪അഗതികൾക്ക് വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
൧൫വടിയും ശാസനയും ജ്ഞാനം നല്കുന്നു; തന്നിഷ്ടത്തിനു വിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ബാലൻ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് ലജ്ജ വരുത്തുന്നു.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
൧൬ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ പെരുകുമ്പോൾ അതിക്രമം പെരുകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാർ അവരുടെ വീഴ്ച കാണും.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
൧൭നിന്റെ മകനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുക; അവൻ നിനക്ക് ആശ്വാസമായിത്തീരും; അവൻ നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന് പ്രമോദം വരുത്തും.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
൧൮വെളിപ്പാട് ഇല്ലാത്തിടത്ത് ജനം മര്യാദവിട്ടു നടക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
൧൯ദാസനെ നന്നാക്കുവാൻ വാക്കുമാത്രം പോരാ; അവൻ അത് ഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും കൂട്ടാക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
൨൦വാക്കിൽ തിടുക്കമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവനെക്കാൾ മൂഢനെക്കുറിച്ച് അധികം പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ട്.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
൨൧ദാസനെ ബാല്യംമുതൽ ലാളിച്ചുവളർത്തുന്നവനോട് അവൻ ഒടുവിൽ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കും.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
൨൨കോപമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ക്രോധമുള്ളവൻ അതിക്രമം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
൨൩മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗർവ്വം അവനെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; മനോവിനയമുള്ളവൻ മാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
൨൪കള്ളന്റെ പങ്കാളി സ്വന്തം പ്രാണനെ പകക്കുന്നു; അവൻ സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഒന്നും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതുമില്ല.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
൨൫മാനുഷഭയം ഒരു കെണി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.
൨൬അനേകം പേർ അധിപതിയുടെ മുഖപ്രസാദം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന് ന്യായവിധിയോ യഹോവയിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
൨൭നീതികെട്ടവൻ നീതിമാന്മാർക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; സന്മാർഗ്ഗി ദുഷ്ടന്മാർക്കും വെറുപ്പ്.
