< Proverbs 12 >

1 WHOSO loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Mikoko hilala ty mpitea lafa, fe gege ty malaiñ-endake;
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
Hanjo fañisohañe am’ Iehovà ty matarike, fe hafà’e ty mpikinia.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
Tsy mahafioreñe ondaty ty halo-tserehañe, fe tsy hasiotse ty vaha’o vañoñeo.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
Sabakan-engem-bali’e ty rakemba soa, fe hoe hamomohañe an-taola’e ao ty mahasalatse.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
To ty fivetsevetse’ o vantañeo; fe mitarik’ an-dama ty fanoroa’ o lo-tserekeo.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
Famandroñan-dio ty entam-bola’ o raty tserekeo, fe hañaha ty vañoñe o saontsi’eo.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
Rotsaheñe o lo-tserekeo le tsy eo, fe hijadoñe ty anjomba’ o mahitio.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
O hihi’eo ty anambezañe ondatio, fe ho sirikaeñe ty mengok’ an-troke.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
Hàmake t’ie mirè-batañe, naho manaña mpitoroñe raike, ta t’ie mieva ho bey fe tsy aman-kaneñe.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Haoñe’ ty vantañe ty fiai’ i bibi’ey, fe fampisoañañe avao ty tretre’ i rati-tserekey.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
Ho enen-kaneñe ty mpiava’ i tane’ey, fe po-hilala ty mañeañe ty tsy vente’e.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
Tsikirihe’ o rati-tserekeo ty fikopahan-karatiañe, fe mamokatse ty vaha’ o vantañeo.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
Fandrihe’ ty fiolàn-tsoñi’e ty lahiaga, fe hibolititse amy haloviloviañey ty vañoñe.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
Mahaenen-kasoa t’indaty ty vokam-palie’e, vaho himpoly ama’ ondaty o fitoloñam-pità’eo.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Mahity amo maso’eo ty gege, fe mijanjim-panoroañe ty mahihitse.
16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
Fohiñe aniany ty filoa-tiña’ i dagola, fe lembefe’ i mahihitse ty mahasalatse.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
Mampiboake havantañañe ty mikofòke hatò, fe famañahiañe ty manara-bande.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
Eo ty manoantoañe an-drehake, hoe fitomboham-pibara, fe minday fijanganañe ty famele’ o mahihitseo.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
Hijadoñe nainai’e ty fivimbin-katò, fe aniany avao ty lelan-dremborake.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.
Famañahiañe ty an-tro’ o mpikililio, fe haehake t’ie mpifampilongo.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
Tsy mizò raty ty vantañe, fe lifo-kasotriañe ty tsereheñe.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Tiva am’ Iehovà ty soñy mandañitse, fe no’e o mitoloñe am-pigahiñañeo.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Mañaja hihitse ty hendre, fe mitazataza hagegeañe ty tron-dagola.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Hifeleke ty fità’ o mahimbañeo, vaho hondevozeñe ty taña migebañe.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
Mampidrodretse ty arofo’ ondaty ty fivazobazorañe ama’e ao, fe mampanintsiñe aze ty talily soa.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
Manoro an-drañe’e ty vantañe, fe mampivike o lo-tserekeo ty lala’iareo.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
Tsy atono’ i tembo ty nitsatsà’e; fe vara ami’ty mpifanehake o hanaña’eo.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
Tendrek’ an-dalam-bantañe ty haveloñe, vaho tsy aman-kavetrahañe i oloñolo’ey.
