Leviticus 4
1 AND the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
Dis aux enfants d’Israël: Un homme qui a péché par ignorance, et qui, touchant les commandements du Seigneur, a fait quelque chose de ce qu’il a commandé de ne point faire;
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
Si c’est le prêtre qui a été oint, qui a péché, faisant faillir le peuple, il offrira pour son péché, un veau sans tache au Seigneur;
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock’s head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
Et il l’amènera à la porte du tabernacle de témoignage devant le Seigneur, et il mettra la main sur sa tête, et il l’immolera au Seigneur.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock’s blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Il prendra aussi du sang du veau, le portant dans le tabernacle de témoignage.
6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary.
Et lorsqu’il aura trempé son doigt dans le sang, il en fera l’aspersion sept fois devant le Seigneur contre le voile du sanctuaire.
7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Ensuite il mettra du même sang sur les cornes de l’autel du parfum à brûler, très agréable au Seigneur, et qui est dans le tabernacle de témoignage, mais tout le reste du sang, il le répandra au pied de l’autel de l’holocauste, à l’entrée du tabernacle.
8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
Et il enlèvera la graisse du veau, hostie pour le péché, tant celle qui couvre les entrailles, que tout ce qui est au dedans,
9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,
Les deux reins et la membrane réticulaire qui est sur eux près des flancs, et la graisse du foie avec les reins;
10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
Comme elle s’enlève du veau de l’hostie des sacrifices pacifiques, et il les brûlera sur l’autel de l’holocauste.
11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,
Quant à la peau et à toutes les chairs, avec la tête, les pieds, les intestins, la fiente,
12 Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
Et le reste du corps, il les emportera hors du camp dans un lieu net, où les cendres ont coutume d’être répandues; et il les brûlera sur un tas de bois, et ils seront consumés dans le lieu des cendres répandues.
13 And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;
Que si toute la multitude d’Israël a été dans l’ignorance, et que par impéritie, elle ait fait ce qui est contre un commandement du Seigneur,
14 When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
Et qu’ensuite elle ait reconnu son péché, elle offrira pour son péché un veau, et elle l’amènera à la porte du tabernacle.
15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the Lord: and the bullock shall be killed before the Lord.
Alors les anciens du peuple mettront les mains sur sa tête devant le Seigneur. Et, le veau immolé en la présence du Seigneur,
16 And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock’s blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Le prêtre qui a été oint, portera de son sang dans le tabernacle de témoignage,
17 And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, even before the vail.
Faisant de son doigt trempé dans ce sang sept fois l’aspersion contre le voile;
18 And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the Lord, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Et il mettra du même sang sur les cornes de l’autel qui est devant le Seigneur dans le tabernacle de témoignage; mais le reste du sang, il le répandra au pied de l’autel des holocaustes, qui est à la porte du tabernacle de témoignage.
19 And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
Et il prendra toute la graisse du veau et la brûlera sur l’autel;
20 And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
Faisant ainsi de ce veau, comme il a fait auparavant: et le prêtre priant pour eux, le Seigneur leur sera propice.
21 And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn him as he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation.
Mais le veau lui-même, il l’emportera hors du camp, et le brûlera comme le premier veau, parce que c’est pour le péché de la multitude.
22 When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;
Si un prince a péché et qu’il ait fait par ignorance une des choses nombreuses qui sont défendues par la loi du Seigneur,
23 Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:
Et qu’ensuite il ait reconnu son péché, il offrira une hostie au Seigneur, un bouc sans tache, pris d’entre les chèvres.
24 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the Lord: it is a sin offering.
Il mettra sa main sur sa tête; et lorsqu’il l’aura immolé dans le lieu où a coutume d’être immolé l’holocauste devant le Seigneur, parce que c’est pour le péché,
25 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.
Le prêtre trempera le doigt dans le sang de l’hostie pour le péché, touchant les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste et répandant le reste au pied de l’autel.
26 And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
Mais la graisse, il la brûlera dessus, comme on a coutume de faire aux victimes des sacrifices pacifiques: et le prêtre priera pour lui et pour son péché, et il lui sera pardonné.
27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
Que si un homme d’entre le peuple de la terre pèche par ignorance, de manière à faire quelqu’une des choses qui sont défendues par la loi du Seigneur, et à faillir,
28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
Et qu’il reconnaisse son péché, il offrira une chèvre sans tache,
29 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
Et il mettra la main sur la tête de l’hostie qui est pour le péché, et il l’immolera au lieu de l’holocauste.
30 And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
Puis le prêtre prendra du sang avec son doigt, et touchant les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste, il répandra le reste au pied de l’autel.
31 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
Mais enlevant toute la graisse, comme elle a la coutume d’être enlevée des victimes des sacrifices pacifiques, il la brûlera sur l’autel en odeur de suavité pour le Seigneur; et il priera pour lui, et il lui sera pardonné.
32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.
Mais s’il offre une victime de brebis pour le péché, que ce soit une brebis sans tache;
33 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering.
Il posera la main sur sa tête, et il l’immolera au lieu où ont coutume d’être tuées les hosties des holocaustes.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
Alors le prêtre prendra de son sang avec son doigt, et touchant les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste, il répandra le reste au pied de l’autel,
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
Enlevant aussi toute la graisse comme a coutume d’être enlevée la graisse du bélier, qui est immolé dans les sacrifices pacifiques, il la brûlera sur l’autel pour l’holocauste du Seigneur; et il priera pour celui qui offre le sacrifice et pour son péché, et il lui sera pardonné.
