John 19
1 THEN Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
Entonces Pilato tomó a Jesús y [lo] azotó.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
Los soldados trenzaron una corona de espinas, se [la] pusieron sobre su cabeza y lo cubrieron con un manto de color púrpura.
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
Se acercaban a Él y le decían: ¡Honores, Rey de los judíos! Y le daban bofetadas.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
Pilato salió otra vez y les dijo: Aquí se lo traigo. Sepan que no hallo delito en Él.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
Cuando Jesús salió, llevaba la corona de espinas y el manto de púrpura. Y [Pilato] les dijo: ¡Aquí está el Hombre!
6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
Al verlo los principales sacerdotes y los guardias gritaron: ¡Crucifícalo! ¡Crucifícalo! Pilato les dijo: ¡Tómenlo ustedes y crucifíquenlo, pues yo no hallo delito en él!
7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
Los judíos le respondieron: Nosotros tenemos Ley, y según la Ley tiene que morir, porque se declaró Hijo de Dios.
8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
Cuando Pilato escuchó esta declaración, tuvo más temor.
9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
Entró otra vez en la residencia y preguntó a Jesús: ¿De dónde eres Tú? Pero Jesús no le respondió.
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
Entonces Pilato le preguntó: ¿No me hablas? ¿No sabes que tengo autoridad para soltarte y para crucificarte?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
Jesús respondió: Ninguna autoridad tendrías sobre Mí si no te fuera dada de arriba. Por esto, el que me entregó a ti tiene mayor pecado.
12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cæsar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cæsar.
Por tanto Pilato procuraba soltarlo. Pero los judíos gritaron: ¡Si sueltas a Éste, no eres amigo de César! ¡Todo el que se proclama rey contradice a César!
13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
Después de oír estas palabras, Pilato llevó a Jesús afuera y se sentó en un tribunal, en un lugar llamado Enlosado, y en hebreo Gabbata.
14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
Eran como las 12 del día de [la] Preparación de la Pascua. Y [Pilato] dijo a los judíos: ¡Aquí está su Rey!
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cæsar.
Por tanto ellos gritaron: ¡Fuera, fuera, crucifícalo! Pilato les preguntó: ¿Que crucifique a su Rey? Los sumos sacerdotes respondieron: ¡No tenemos rey sino a César!
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
Así que [Pilato] se lo entregó para que lo crucificaran. Entonces se llevaron a Jesús.
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
Él mismo cargó la cruz y salió hacia el Lugar llamado Calavera, que en hebreo es Gólgota.
18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
Allí lo crucificaron, y a otros dos con Él, uno a cada lado, y a Jesús en el medio.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Pilato también escribió y colocó sobre la cruz un letrero: Jesús nazareno, Rey de los judíos.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
Muchos de los judíos leyeron este letrero escrito en hebreo, latín y griego, porque el lugar donde Jesús fue crucificado estaba cerca de la ciudad.
21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
Los principales sacerdotes de los judíos dijeron a Pilato: No escribas: Rey de los judíos, sino aquel que dijo: Soy Rey de los judíos.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
Pilato respondió: Lo que he escrito está escrito.
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
Cuando los soldados crucificaron a Jesús, tomaron sus ropas y las repartieron en cuatro partes, una parte para cada soldado, excepto la túnica porque era sin costura tejida por completo desde arriba.
24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
Entonces se dijeron unos a otros: No la rasguemos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella [a fin de] saber de quién será, para que se cumpliera la Escritura: Se repartieron mis ropas entre ellos, Y sobre mi manto echaron suerte. Así pues, los soldados hicieron estas cosas.
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
Delante de la cruz de Jesús estaban en pie su madre, la hermana de su madre, María, la [esposa] de Cleofas y María Magdalena.
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Entonces Jesús, al ver a su madre y al discípulo a quien amaba, que estaba en pie junto a ella, dijo a su madre: ¡Mujer, ahí está tu hijo!
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Después dijo al discípulo: ¡Ahí está tu madre! Desde aquella hora el discípulo la recibió en su hogar.
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Después de esto, como Jesús sabía que ya todo se había consumado, para que se cumpliera la Escritura, dijo: Tengo sed.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
Estaba allí una vasija llena de vinagre. Entonces sujetaron alrededor de un hisopo una esponja empapada en vinagre, y la llevaron a su boca.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesús probó el vinagre y dijo: Fue consumado. Al inclinar la cabeza, entregó el espíritu.
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day, ) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Entonces los judíos rogaron a Pilato que se les quebraran las piernas y fueran quitados, por cuanto era el día de [la] Preparación, para que los cuerpos no permanecieran en la cruz en sábado, pues aquel sábado era grande.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
Los soldados fueron y quebraron las piernas de los dos crucificados con Él.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
Pero al llegar a Jesús, como lo vieron ya muerto, no le quebraron las piernas.
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
Sin embargo, uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con su lanza, y al instante salieron sangre y agua.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
El que vio da testimonio, y su testimonio es verdadero. Él sabe que dijo la verdad, para que también ustedes crean.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
Porque estas cosas sucedieron para que se cumpliera la Escritura: No será quebrado hueso suyo.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
Además otra Escritura dice: Mirarán al que traspasaron.
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathæa, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
Después de estas cosas, José de Arimatea, discípulo oculto de Jesús por miedo a los judíos, pidió a Pilato el cuerpo de Jesús. Y Pilato [le] permitió. Fue y se llevó el cuerpo.
39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
También llegó Nicodemo, quien visitó a Jesús de noche, y llevó una mezcla de mirra y áloe como de 45 kilogramos.
40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
Tomaron el cuerpo de Jesús y lo envolvieron en lienzos con las especias aromáticas, según es costumbre de los judíos para sepultar.
41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
En el lugar donde fue crucificado había un jardín y un sepulcro nuevo en el cual nadie había sido puesto.
42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
Allí pusieron a Jesús por causa de la Preparación de los judíos, porque el sepulcro estaba cerca.
