John 16
1 THESE things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
我が斯く汝等に語りしは、汝等の躓かざらん為なり。
2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
人々汝等を會堂より逐出さん、而も汝等を殺す人凡て自ら神に盡すと思ふ時來らん。
3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
人の斯る事を汝等に為さんとするは、父をも我をも知らざる故なり。
4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
但し我が斯く汝等に語りたるは、時至らば汝等をして、我が之を告げたるを思出でしめんが為なり。
5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
而も之を初より告げざりしは、汝等と共に居りし故なり、今我を遣はし給ひし者に至らんとするに、何處に至るぞと我に問ふ者、汝等の中に一人もあらず、
6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
然れど斯く語りしに因りて、憂汝等の心に満てり。
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
然りながら我實を以て汝等に告ぐ、我が去るは汝等に利あり、我若去らずば弁護者は汝等に來るまじきを、去りなば我之を汝等に遣はすべければなり。
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
彼來らば世を責めて、罪と義と審判とに就きて其過を認めしめん。
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
罪に就きてとは、人々我を信ぜざりし故なり。
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
義に就きてとは、我父の許に去りて汝等最早我を見ざるべき故なり。
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
審判に就きてとは、此世の長既に審判せられたる故なり。
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
我が汝等に云ふべき事尚多けれども、汝等今は之に得堪へず。
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
彼眞理の霊來らん時、一切の眞理を汝等に教へ給はん。其は己より語るに非ずして、悉く其聞きたらん所を語り、又起るべき事を汝等に告げ給ふべければなり。
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
彼は我に光榮あらしむべし、其は我がものを受取りて汝等に示し給ふべければなり。
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
凡て父の有し給ふものは悉く我ものなり、彼は我ものを受取りて汝等に示し給はんと云へるは、之を以てなり。
16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
暫くにして汝等最早我を見ざるべく、又暫くにして我を見ん、是我父に至ればなり、[と曰へり]。
17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
是に於て弟子の或人々、暫くにして汝等我を見ざるべく、又暫くにして我を見ん、又我父に至ればなり、と曰へるは何事ぞ、と語合ひつつ、
18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
然て、暫くにしてと曰へるは何ぞや、我等は其語り給ふ所を知らず、と云ひ居りしに、
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
イエズス彼等が己に問はんと欲するを暁りて曰ひけるは、汝等は、暫くにして汝等を見ざるべく、又暫くにして我を見ん、と我が云へるを僉議し合へるか、
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
誠に實に汝等に告ぐ、汝等は悲しみ且泣かんに世は喜ぶべく、汝等は憂ふべけれども、其憂は變りて喜となるべし。
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
婦の産まんとするや、我時期來れりとて憂ふれども、既に子を産み了れば、世に人一人生れたる喜によりて、最早苦痛を覚ゆる事なし。
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
汝等も今は憂を懐けども、我再び汝等を見ば、汝等の心は喜ぶべく、而も其喜を汝等より奪ふ者なかるべし。
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
彼日には、汝等何事をも我に問はざらん。誠に實に汝等に告ぐ、汝等もし我名によりて父に求むる所あらば、父は之を汝等に賜ふべし。
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
汝等今までは、我名によりて何をも求めざりしが、求めよ、然らば受け得て汝等の喜全かるべし。
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
我喩を以て斯く汝等に語りしかど、最早喩を以て語らずして明白に父に就きて汝等に告ぐべき時は來る、
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
其日には汝等我名によりて求めん、而も我汝等の為に父に祈らんとは云はず、
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
其は汝等我を愛して、我が神より出でたるを信じたるが故に、父自ら汝等を愛し給へばなり。
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
我は父より出でて世に來りしが、復世を離れて父に至る、と曰ひしかば、
29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
弟子等云ひけるは、今は明白に語り給ひて豪も喩を語り給はず。
30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
今にして我等は、汝が萬事を知り給ひて、人の問ふを待ち給はざる事を知り、是によりて汝の神より出で給へる事を信ず、と。
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
イエズス彼等に答へ給ひけるは、汝等は今信ずるか、
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
看よ時は來る、最早來れり、汝等は何れも己がじし散亂れて我を獨り棄置くに至らん。然れど我は獨に非ず、其は父我と共に在せばなり。
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
斯く汝等に語りたるは、汝等が我に於て平安を得ん為なり。世に於ては汝等難に遇はん、然れど頼もしかれ、我は世に勝てり、と。
