Job 40
1 MOREOVER the Lord answered Job, and said,
Además, Yahvé respondió a Job,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
“¿Acaso el que discute puede contender con el Todopoderoso? El que discute con Dios, que responda”.
3 Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
Entonces Job respondió a Yahvé,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“He aquí que soy de poca monta. ¿Qué te voy a responder? Me pongo la mano en la boca.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
He hablado una vez y no voy a responder; Sí, dos veces, pero no seguiré adelante”.
6 Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Entonces Yahvé respondió a Job desde el torbellino:
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
“Ahora prepárate como un hombre. Te interrogaré, y tú me responderás.
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
¿Acaso anularás mi juicio? ¿Me condenas para justificarte?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
¿O es que tienes un brazo como Dios? ¿Se puede tronar con una voz como la suya?
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
“Ahora adórnate con excelencia y dignidad. Arréglate con honor y majestuosidad.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Derrama la furia de tu ira. Mira a todos los que son orgullosos, y bájalos.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Mira a todo el que es orgulloso, y humíllalo. Aplasta a los malvados en su lugar.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Escóndelos juntos en el polvo. Ata sus rostros en el lugar oculto.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Entonces también te admitiré que tu propia mano derecha puede salvarte.
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
“Mira ahora el behemoth, que yo he hecho igual que tú. Come hierba como un buey.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Mira ahora, su fuerza está en sus muslos. Su fuerza está en los músculos de su vientre.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
Mueve su cola como un cedro. Los tendones de sus muslos están unidos.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Sus huesos son como tubos de bronce. Sus miembros son como barras de hierro.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
Él es el principal de los caminos de Dios. El que lo hizo le da su espada.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Ciertamente, las montañas producen alimento para él, donde juegan todos los animales del campo.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
Se acuesta bajo los árboles de loto, en la cobertura del carrizo, y el pantano.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Los lotos lo cubren con su sombra. Los sauces del arroyo lo rodean.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
He aquí que si un río se desborda, no tiembla. Se muestra confiado, aunque el Jordán se hincha hasta la boca.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Lo tomará cualquiercuando esté de guardia, o atravesar su nariz con un lazo?
