Jeremiah 31
1 AT the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
時候────將作以色列各宗族的天主，他們將作我的人民。
2 Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
上主這樣說：逃脫了刀劍的，在曠野中找到了聖寵遇；以色列前來自己巿身的地方。
3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
上主自遠處顯示給她說：我愛妳，我永遠愛妳，因此我給妳留了我的仁慈；
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
我要再修建妳，而妳必建再建立起來；妳必再帶上妳的小鼓，出來歡樂哥舞；
5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
再在撒馬黎雅山上栽種葡萄，栽種培埴，必有收穫；
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God.
因為終有一天，守望的人要在厄弗辣因山上嘁說：起來，讓我們上熙雍去，到上主我們的天主那裏去!
7 For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
因為上主這樣說：你們應為雅各伯歡呼，向為首的民族喝采，傳揚稱讚說：上主救了自己的百姓，以色列的遺民。
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
看，我由北地引他們歸來，從大地的盡頭召集他們，其中有瞎子，有跛子，有懷孕的和正在生產的，形成一大隊回到這裏來。
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
他們含淚前行，我卻撫引導，領他們踏上不會跌倒的坦途，來到溪流旁，因為我是以色列的慈父，厄弗辣因是我的長子。
10 Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
萬民! 請聽上主的話，向遙遠的海島宣傳說：那
11 For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
那昔日驅散以色列的，再要來聚集他們，看守他們像牧童看守自己的羊群。11. 因為上主必拯救雅各伯，比他更強者的手中將他們贖回。
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
他們將來前來，在熙雍山巔歡呼，湧向上主的美物，飽享穀、麥、酒、油，子牛小羊；他們的心靈好像受灌溉的田園，再也不感憔悴。
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
那時，處女必歡欣鼓舞，老幼必相聚同樂，因為我將使的悲哀變成喜樂，仗他們由自己的憂苦中獲得安慰歡樂；
14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord.
我將以肥脂滋潤司祭的心靈，以美物飽飫我的人民──上主的斷語。
15 Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
上主這樣說：「聽! 在辣瑪有嘆息聲，酸辛哭泣；辣黑耳悲悼自己的兒子，不願接受安慰，因為他們已不存在了! 」
16 Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
上主這樣說：「要止往痛哭，不再流淚，因為你的苦終必有報──上主的斷語──他們必會由敵地歸來!
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
你們的前途大有希望──上主的斷語──你的子孫都要歸回自己的疆域。
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God.
我實在聽到厄弗辣因在悲歎說：你懲罰了我，我受了杖搫，有如一頭不馴服的公牛犢；你使我歸來，我必歸來，因為你是上主，我的天主x。
19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
的確，我離棄你以後，我已後悔；在覺悟以後，我拍腿自慚自愧，因為我又染上了我少年時的恥辱。
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the Lord.
厄弗辣因豈? 是我的寵兒，我鍾愛嬌子﹖因為我幾時恐嚇他，反倒更顧念他；對他我五內感動，不得不大施愛憐──上主的斷語」。
21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
請你給自己樹立路程碑，設置指路牌，細心回想你走的路線，以往你走過的大道；以色列處女! 回到妳自己的城邑。
22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
妳要流浪到幾時﹖叛逆的女兒! 因為上主在地上正在創造一件新事：女人包圍男人。
23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The Lord bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.
萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：「當我轉變他們的命運時，在猶大地和她城市中的人，還要用這話祝賀說：正義的所在，神聖的山嶺! 願上主祝福你。
24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.
猶大和她各城中的人，農夫和隨羊遷徒的人，將要同住在那裏，
25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
因為我要振作困乏的心靈，飽飫一切苦悶的心靈。──
26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
至此，我醒來了，我看見了，我的睡眠為我實在甘甜。
27 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
──上主的斷語──我要給以色列家和猶大家播散人種和獸種；
28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the Lord.
就如往昔我曾監視他們，為將他們拔除、破壞、推翻、毀滅、損害；同樣，日後我必要監視他們、為將他們建設、栽培──上主的斷語──
29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
在那時裏，人必不再說：「祖先吃了酸葡萄，子孫的牙齒也要酸軟」。
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
不，各人只因自己的的罪惡而死；只有吃酸葡萄的人，自己的牙齒才酸軟。
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
看，時日將到──上主的斷語──我必要與叵家和猶大家訂立新約，
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
不像我昔日──握住他們的手，引他們出離埃及時──與他們的祖先訂立盟約；雖然我是他們的夫君，他們已自行破壞了我這盟約──上主的斷語──
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
我願在那些時日，與叵家訂立的盟約──上主的斷語──就是：我要將我的法律放在他們的肺腑裏，寫在他們的心頭上；我要作他們的天主，他們要作我的人民。
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
那時，誰也不教訓自己的近人或弟兄說：「你們該認識上主」，因為不論大小，人人都必認識我──上主的斷語──因為我要寬恕他們的過犯，不再記憶他們的罪惡。
35 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name:
那指定太陽照耀白日規定月亮星辰照耀黑夜，撥動海洋使波濤怒號，號稱「萬軍的上主」
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
假若這些規定已由我面前消失──上主的斷語──以色列種族在我面前也就永不再是一個民族。
37 Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.
上主這樣說：假若能測量在上的諸天，能探察在下大地的基礎，我也就因他們所做的一切，拋棄整個以色列種族──上主的斷語」。
38 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the city shall be built to the Lord from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.
看，時日將到──上主的斷語──上主的城市必要重建，不佰自哈納乃布堡直到角門，
39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.
而且測量的繩墨還要向外伸展，直到加勒布丘，再轉向哥阿；
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the Lord; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
滿了屍首和灰燼的整個山谷，以及直到克德隆溪流和東邊馬門角旁所有木田地，都將祝聖給上主，永不再遭受」。
