Isaiah 51
1 HEARKEN to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
你們追求正義，尋覓上主的人，請聽我說：你們又細察那巖石，你們是從那上邊鑿下來的；要細察那石穴，你們是從那裏挖出來的。
2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
你們要細察你們的父親亞巴郎和產生你們的撒辣，因為當我召叫他時，只有他一人，但我祝福了他，使他繁盛。
3 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
的確，上主必要憐憫熙雍，憐憫她所有的廢墟，使她的荒野成為伊甸，使她的沙漠變為上主的樂園，其中必有歡樂和愉快，歌頌和絃樂之聲。
4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
萬民啊！請傾聽我；萬邦啊！請側耳聽我：法律將由我而出，我的正義要作為萬民的光明。
5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
我的正義要迅速降臨，我的救恩業已出現，我的手臂要掌管萬民；諸島嶼都仰望我，依賴我的手臂。
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
你們仰觀諸天，俯察大地：縱然諸天將如煙雲消散，大地要像衣服破舊，地上的居民要如蚊子死去，然而我的救恩永遠常存，我的正義決不廢除。
7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
你們認識正義，心懷法律的人民，請聽我說：不要怕人家的侮辱，對他們的嘲笑也不必驚恐；
8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
因為他們必如衣服一樣，為蠹蟲所吃掉；如羊毛一樣，為衣魚所吃掉；然而我的正義永遠常存，我的救恩直到萬世。
9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
上主的手臂！醒來，醒來！施展威能罷！醒來有如在古時古代一樣。不是你斬了辣哈布，刺殺了巨龍嗎﹖
10 Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
不是你令海令大洋的水涸竭了嗎﹖不是你使海底變為大路，叫蒙救的人走過嗎﹖
11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
上主所解救的人必要歸來，快樂地來到熙雍，永久的歡樂將臨於他們頭上；他們將享盡歡欣與快樂，憂愁與悲哀必將遠遁。
12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;
是我，是我親自安慰了你，你怎麼還怕那有死的人，怕那命如草芥的人子呢﹖
13 And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
你怎麼竟忘記了那創造你，展開諸天，奠定大地的上主，而終日不斷對那壓迫你，決意要消滅你的人的狂怒恐怖呢﹖如今壓迫你者的狂怒在那裏呢﹖
14 The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
囚禁的人即將釋放，不致死於深坑，他的口糧也不會缺乏。
15 But I am the Lord thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The Lord of hosts is his name.
我是上主你的天主，即那攪動海洋使浪濤澎湃的，他的名字是「萬軍的上主。」
16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.
是我把我的話放在你的口中，將你掩護在我的手蔭之下；是我展開了諸天，奠定了大地，並給熙雍說：「你是我的百姓。」
17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.
起來，起來！耶路撒冷！立起來！你這由上主手中飲了他震怒之杯，啜盡了那麻醉爵中渣滓的！
18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.
她所生的兒子中沒有一個來引領她的，她養大的兒子中沒有一個來扶持她手的。
19 These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?
這兩件事臨到了你身上，有誰哀憐你呢﹖就是荒涼與滅亡，饑饉與兵燹，有誰安慰你呢﹖
20 Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of thy God.
你的兒子昏迷不醒，躺在街頭，像陷入羅網的羚羊；他們還飽嘗了上主的憤怒，受盡了你的天主的恐嚇。
21 Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
為此，你這受苦難的，非因酒而醉倒的，請聽這事！
22 Thus saith thy Lord the Lord, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:
你的主宰上主，為自己的人民辯護的天主，這樣說：「看！我已從你手中取回了那麻醉的杯，我憤怒的爵，你必不再喝，
23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
我將此杯放在壓迫你者的手中，就是曾對你說：「躺下來！讓我們走過去！」你便使你的背脊作為平地，作為街道，任他們走過去的那些人。
