Isaiah 20

1 IN the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, ) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;

亞述王撒爾貢派遣總司令來到阿市多得，進攻克服阿市多得的那一年──

2 At the same time spake the Lord by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

那時上主曾藉阿摩茲的兒子依撒意亞發言說：「去！脫下你腰間的苦衣，除去你腳上的鞋！ 」他就這樣作了，裸體赤足而行──

3 And the Lord said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

上主說：「就如我的僕人依撒意亞，三年之久，裸體赤足而行，為埃及和雇士是一個預言和先兆；

4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

同樣亞述王要將埃及的俘虜和雇士的流徙帶走，無論老幼，一律裸體赤足，露著下體，好羞辱埃及。」

5 And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

人們將對他們的仰望雇士，對他們的光榮埃及，感到失望和羞慚。

6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

這一帶海濱的居民，在那天要說：「看！這原是我們所依賴，跑去求救，藉以擺脫亞述王的人！我們又怎能逃避呢﹖」
