Galatians 5
1 STAND fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
૧આપણે બંધનમાં ન રહીએ માટે ખ્રિસ્તે આપણને સ્વતંત્ર કર્યા છે; તેથી સ્થિર રહો અને ફરીથી દાસત્વની ઝૂંસરી નીચે ન જોડાઓ.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
૨જુઓ, હું પાઉલ, તમને કહું છું કે, જો તમે સુન્નત કરાવો છો, તો તમને ખ્રિસ્તથી કંઈ લાભ થવાનો નથી.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
૩દરેક સુન્નત કરાવનારને હું ફરીથી ખાતરીપૂર્વક કહું છું કે, તે આખું નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પાળવાને જવાબદાર છે.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
૪તમે જેઓ નિયમશાસ્ત્રના પાલનથી ન્યાયી ઠરવા ચાહો છો, તેઓ ખ્રિસ્તથી અલગ થયા છો; તમે કૃપાથી દૂર થયા છો.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
૫કેમ કે અમે આત્મા દ્વારા વિશ્વાસથી ન્યાયીપણું પામવાની આશાની રાહ જોઈએ છીએ.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
૬કેમ કે ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં સુન્નત કે બેસુન્નત ઉપયોગી નથી; પણ માત્ર વિશ્વાસ કે જે પ્રેમ દ્વારા કાર્ય કરે છે તે જ ઉપયોગી છે.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
૭તમે સારી રીતે દોડતા હતા, તમને સત્યને અનુસરતા કોણે રોક્યા?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
૮આવું કરવાની સમજ તમને તેડનાર તરફથી અપાતી નથી.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
૯એક સડેલી કેરી બધી કેરીઓને બગાડે છે. થોડું ખમીર સમગ્ર કણકને ફુલાવે છે.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
૧૦તમારે વિષે પ્રભુમાં મને ભરોસો છે કે તમે આનાથી જુદો મત નહિ ધરાવો; જે કોઈ તમને અવળે માર્ગે દોરશે તે શિક્ષા પામશે.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
૧૧ભાઈઓ, જો હું હજી સુધી સુન્નત કરવા વિષે શીખવતો હોઉં, તો હજુ પણ મારી સતાવણી કેમ થાય છે? એટલા માટે થાય છે કે વધસ્તંભનો મારો ઉપદેશ નિરર્થક નથી.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
૧૨જેઓ તમને ગેરમાર્ગે દોરે છે, તેઓ પોતપોતાને કાપી નાખે તો કેવું સારું!
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
૧૩કેમ કે, ભાઈઓ, તમને સ્વતંત્ર થવા તેડવામાં આવ્યા હતા; માત્ર એટલું જ કે તમારી સ્વતંત્રતા શારીરિક વિષયભોગને અર્થે ન વાપરો, પણ પ્રેમથી એકબીજાની સેવા કરો.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
૧૪કેમ કે આખું નિયમશાસ્ત્ર એક જ વચનમાં પૂરું થાય છે, એટલે, ‘જેમ તું પોતાના પર પ્રેમ રાખે છે તેમ તારા પડોશી પર પ્રેમ રાખ.’”
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
૧૫પણ જો તમે એકબીજાને કરડો અને ફાડી ખાઓ, તો સાવધાન રહો, કદાચ તમે એકબીજાથી નાશ પામો.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
૧૬પણ હું કહું છું કે, આત્માની દોરવણી અનુસાર ચાલો અને તમે દેહની વાસના તૃપ્ત કરશો નહિ.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
૧૭કેમ કે દેહ આત્માની વિરુદ્ધ ઇચ્છા કરે છે અને આત્મા દેહની વિરુદ્ધ; કારણ કે તેઓ પરસ્પર વિરુદ્ધ છે; અને તેથી જે તમે ઇચ્છો તે તમે કરતા નથી.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
૧૮પણ જો તમે આત્માની દોરવણી મુજબ વર્તો છો, તો તમે નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધીન નથી.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
૧૯દેહનાં કામ તો દેખીતાં છે, એટલે જાતીય અનૈતિકતા, અશુદ્ધતા, લંપટપણું,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
૨૦મૂર્તિપૂજા, મેલીવિદ્યા, વૈરભાવ, કજિયાકંકાશ, ઈર્ષા, ક્રોધ, ખટપટ, કુસંપ, પક્ષાપક્ષી,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
૨૧અદેખાઈ, સ્વચ્છંદતા, ભોગવિલાસ તથા તેઓના જેવા કામો; જેમ પહેલાં મેં તમને ચેતવ્યાં હતા તેમ તેઓ વિષે હમણાં પણ ચેતવું છું કે, જેઓ એવાં કામ કરે છે તેઓ ઈશ્વરના રાજ્યનો વારસો પામશે નહિ.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
૨૨પણ પવિત્ર આત્માનું ફળ પ્રેમ, આનંદ, શાંતિ, સહનશીલતા, માયાળુપણું, ભલાઈ, વિશ્વાસુપણું,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
૨૩નમ્રતા અને આત્મસંયમ છે; આ બાબતોની વિરુદ્ધ કોઈ નિયમ નથી.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
૨૪અને જેઓ ખ્રિસ્તનાં છે, તેઓએ દેહને તેની વાસનાઓ તથા ઇચ્છાઓ સહિત વધસ્તંભે જડ્યો છે.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
૨૫જો આપણે આત્માથી જીવીએ છીએ તો આત્માની દોરવણી પ્રમાણે ચાલવું પણ જોઈએ.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
૨૬આપણે એકબીજાને ખીજવીને તથા એકબીજા પર અદેખાઈ રાખીને ઘમંડ ન કરીએ.
