< Galatians 1 >

1 PAUL, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead; )
Paul, an emissary (not from humans, nor through humans, but through Yeshua the Messiah, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),
2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
and all the brothers who are with me, to the congregations of Galatia:
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: (aiōn g165)
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father— (aiōn g165)
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you by the grace of Messiah to a different "good news";
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
and there is not another "good news." Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Messiah.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a "good news" other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, so I now say again: if anyone preaches to you a "good news" other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? For if I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Messiah.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not of human origin.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
For neither did I receive it from a human, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Yeshua the Messiah.
13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I severely persecuted the congregation of God, and tried to destroy it.
14 And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,
But when God, who had set me apart from my mother's womb and called me through his grace, was pleased
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
to reveal his Son to me, that I might preach him among those who are not Jewish, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were emissaries before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Kefa and get information from him, and stayed with him fifteen days.
19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.
But of the other emissaries I saw no one, except Jacob, the Lord's brother.
20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
Now about the things which I write to you, look, before God, I'm not lying.
21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judæa which were in Christ:
I was still unknown by face to the congregations of Judea which were in Messiah,
23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
but they only heard: "He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy."
24 And they glorified God in me.
And they glorified God because of me.
