Deuteronomy 28
1 AND it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
Acontecerá, se você ouvir diligentemente a voz de Javé seu Deus, observar para cumprir todos os seus mandamentos que eu lhe ordeno hoje, que Javé seu Deus o elevará acima de todas as nações da terra.
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
Todas estas bênçãos virão sobre você, e o alcançarão, se você ouvir a voz de Yahweh, seu Deus.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Você será abençoado na cidade, e você será abençoado no campo.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Você será abençoado no fruto de seu corpo, no fruto de sua terra, no fruto de seus animais, no aumento de seu gado e nos filhotes de seu rebanho.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Sua cesta e seu cocho de amassar serão abençoados.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
Serás abençoado quando entrares e serás abençoado quando saíres.
7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
Yahweh fará com que seus inimigos que se levantam contra você sejam atingidos antes de você. Eles sairão contra você de uma maneira, e fugirão diante de você de sete maneiras.
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
Yahweh ordenará a bênção sobre você em seus celeiros, e em tudo a que você colocar sua mão. Ele o abençoará na terra que Yahweh seu Deus lhe dá.
9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
Javé vos estabelecerá para um povo santo para si mesmo, como ele vos jurou, se guardardes os mandamentos de Javé vosso Deus, e andardes nos seus caminhos.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
Todos os povos da terra verão que você é chamado pelo nome de Iavé, e terão medo de você.
11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Javé te concederá abundante prosperidade no fruto de teu corpo, no fruto de teu gado e no fruto de tua terra, na terra que Javé jurou a teus pais te dar.
12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Yahweh lhe abrirá seu bom tesouro no céu, para dar a chuva de sua terra em sua estação e para abençoar todo o trabalho de sua mão. Você emprestará a muitas nações, e não tomará emprestado.
13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Yahweh fará de você a cabeça, e não a cauda. Você estará somente acima, e não estará abaixo, se escutar os mandamentos de Javé seu Deus que eu lhe ordeno hoje, para observar e fazer,
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
e não se afastará de nenhuma das palavras que eu lhe ordeno hoje, para a mão direita ou para a esquerda, para ir atrás de outros deuses para servi-los.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Mas acontecerá, se você não ouvir a voz de Javé, seu Deus, para cumprir todos os seus mandamentos e seus estatutos que eu lhe ordeno hoje, que todas estas maldições virão sobre você e o ultrapassarão.
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Você será amaldiçoado na cidade, e você será amaldiçoado no campo.
17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Sua cesta e seu cocho de amassar serão amaldiçoados.
18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
O fruto de seu corpo, o fruto de seu solo, o aumento de seu gado e os filhotes de seu rebanho serão amaldiçoados.
19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
Você será amaldiçoado quando entrar, e será amaldiçoado quando sair.
20 The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
Yahweh enviará sobre você maldição, confusão e repreensão em tudo o que você colocar sua mão para fazer, até que você seja destruído e até que pereça rapidamente, por causa do mal de seus atos, pelos quais você me abandonou.
21 The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
Yahweh fará com que a pestilência se agarre a você, até que ele o tenha consumido de fora da terra onde você entra para possuí-la.
22 The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
Yahweh irá golpeá-lo com consumo, com febre, com inflamação, com calor ardente, com a espada, com a ferrugem e com o míldio. Eles o perseguirão até que você pereça.
23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
Seu céu que está sobre sua cabeça será de bronze, e a terra que está sob você será de ferro.
24 The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Yahweh fará a chuva de sua terra pó e poeira. Ela cairá sobre você do céu, até que você seja destruído.
25 The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
Yahweh fará com que você seja atingido antes de seus inimigos. Você sairá um caminho contra eles, e fugirá sete caminhos antes deles. Você será jogado para frente e para trás entre todos os reinos da terra.
26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
Seus corpos mortos serão alimento para todas as aves do céu, e para os animais da terra; e não haverá ninguém que os afugente.
27 The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
Yahweh vos atingirá com os furúnculos do Egito, com os tumores, com o escorbuto, e com a coceira, da qual não podereis ser curados.
28 The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
Yahweh irá golpeá-lo com loucura, com cegueira e com espanto do coração.
29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
Você vai apalpar ao meio-dia, como os apalpões cegos na escuridão, e não prosperará em seus caminhos. Vocês só serão oprimidos e roubados sempre, e não haverá ninguém para salvá-los.
30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
Você desposará uma esposa, e outro homem se deitará com ela. Construirás uma casa, e não morarás nela. Você plantará uma vinha, e não usará seus frutos.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
Seu boi será morto diante de seus olhos, e você não comerá nada dele. Seu burro será violentamente retirado de diante de seu rosto, e não será restaurado a você. Suas ovelhas serão entregues a seus inimigos, e você não terá ninguém para salvá-lo.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
Seus filhos e suas filhas serão dados a outro povo. Seus olhos olharão e falharão com saudade deles durante todo o dia. Não haverá poder em sua mão.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
Uma nação que você não conhece comerá o fruto de sua terra e todo o seu trabalho. Você só será oprimido e esmagado sempre,
34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
para que as vistas que você vê com seus olhos o deixem louco.
35 The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
Yahweh lhe acertará nos joelhos e nas pernas com uma ferida que não poderá ser curada, desde a sola do pé até a coroa da cabeça.
36 The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
Yahweh vos levará, e a vosso rei que colocareis sobre vós, a uma nação que não conheceis, nem vós nem vossos pais. Ali servireis a outros deuses da madeira e da pedra.
37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
Vós vos tornareis um espanto, um provérbio e uma palavra de ordem entre todos os povos onde Iavé vos conduzirá.
38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
Você levará muitas sementes para o campo e pouco se reunirá, pois o gafanhoto as consumirá.
39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
Vocês plantarão vinhedos e os vestirão, mas não beberão do vinho, nem colherão, pois os vermes os comerão.
40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
Você terá oliveiras em todas as suas bordas, mas não se ungirá com o azeite, pois suas azeitonas cairão.
41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
Você será pai de filhos e filhas, mas eles não serão seus, pois eles irão para o cativeiro.
42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
Locusts consumirá todas as suas árvores e os frutos do seu solo.
43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
O estrangeiro que estiver entre vocês subirá acima de vocês cada vez mais alto, e vocês descerão cada vez mais baixo.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Ele emprestará a vocês e vocês não emprestarão a ele. Ele será a cabeça, e vocês serão a cauda.
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
Todas estas maldições virão sobre você, e o perseguirão e o ultrapassarão, até que seja destruído, porque você não ouviu a voz de Javé, seu Deus, para cumprir seus mandamentos e seus estatutos que ele lhe ordenou.
46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
Eles serão por um sinal e por uma maravilha para você e para sua prole para sempre.
47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
Porque não serviste a Javé teu Deus com alegria e com alegria de coração, em razão da abundância de todas as coisas;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
portanto, servirás a teus inimigos que Javé envia contra ti, na fome, na sede, na nudez e na falta de todas as coisas. Ele colocará um jugo de ferro no seu pescoço até que ele o tenha destruído.
49 The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
Javé trará uma nação contra você de longe, do fim da terra, como a águia voa: uma nação cuja língua você não entenderá,
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
uma nação de expressões faciais ferozes, que não respeita os idosos, nem mostra favor aos jovens.
51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
eles comerão o fruto de seu gado e o fruto de sua terra, até que você seja destruído. Eles também não lhe deixarão grãos, vinho novo, azeite, o aumento de seu gado, ou os filhotes de seu rebanho, até que eles tenham causado a sua perecimento.
52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
Eles o sitiarão em todos os seus portões até que seus muros altos e fortificados, nos quais você confiou, desçam por toda a sua terra. Eles o cercarão em todos os seus portões em toda a sua terra que Yahweh seu Deus lhe deu.
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
Você comerá o fruto de seu próprio corpo, a carne de seus filhos e de suas filhas, que Yavé seu Deus lhe deu, no cerco e na angústia com que seus inimigos o afligirão.
54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
O homem que for terno entre vós, e muito delicado, seu olho será mau para seu irmão, para a esposa que ama, e para o resto de seus filhos que lhe resta,
55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
para que não dê a nenhum deles a carne de seus filhos que comerá, porque nada lhe resta, no cerco e na angústia com que vosso inimigo vos angustiará em todos os vossos portões.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
A mulher terna e delicada entre vocês, que não se atreveria a colocar a planta de seu pé no chão por delicadeza e ternura, seu olho será maligno para o marido que ama, para seu filho, para sua filha,
57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
toward sua jovem que sai de entre seus pés, e para seus filhos que ela carrega; pois ela os comerá secretamente por falta de todas as coisas no cerco e na angústia com que seu inimigo os angustiará em seus portões.
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
Se você não observar fazer todas as palavras desta lei que estão escritas neste livro, para que você possa temer este nome glorioso e temível, YAHWEH seu Deus,
59 Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
então Yahweh fará suas pragas e as pragas de sua prole temerem, mesmo grandes pragas, e de longa duração, e de doenças severas, e de longa duração.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
Ele trará novamente sobre você todas as doenças do Egito, das quais você tinha medo; e elas se apegarão a você.
61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Também toda doença e toda peste que não estiver escrita no livro desta lei, Javé as trará sobre você até que você seja destruído.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
Vocês serão poucos em número, apesar de terem sido as estrelas do céu para a multidão, porque não ouviram a voz de Javé, seu Deus.
63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Acontecerá que, enquanto Javé se alegrou por você para fazer-lhe o bem e multiplicá-lo, assim Javé se alegrará por você para fazê-lo perecer e destruí-lo. Você será arrancado da terra que você vai possuir.
64 And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
Yahweh o espalhará entre todos os povos, de um extremo ao outro da terra. Ali servireis a outros deuses que não conheceis, nem vós nem vossos pais, nem mesmo madeira e pedra.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
Entre estas nações não encontrarás facilidade, e não haverá descanso para a planta de teu pé; mas Javé te dará ali um coração trêmulo, uma falha de olhos e um pingo de alma.
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
Sua vida ficará em dúvida diante de você. Você terá medo noite e dia, e não terá nenhuma garantia de sua vida.
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
De manhã você dirá: “Gostaria que fosse de noite” e à noite você dirá: “Gostaria que fosse de manhã”, pelo medo de seu coração que você temerá, e pelas visões que seus olhos verão.
68 And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Yahweh o trará novamente ao Egito com navios, pelo qual eu lhe disse que nunca mais o veria novamente. Lá vocês se oferecerão a seus inimigos para escravos e escravas, e ninguém os comprará.
