2 Kings 19
1 AND it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord.
Und es geschah, da König Chiskijahu es hörte, so zerriß er seine Kleider und bedeckte sich mit dem Sack und kam in das Haus Jehovahs;
2 And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
Und sandte Eljakim, der über das Haus war, und Schebna, den Schreiber, und die Ältesten der Priester, mit Säcken bedeckt, an Jesajah, den Propheten, den Sohn des Amoz.
3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
Und sie sprachen zu ihm: So spricht Chiskijahu: Ein Tag der Drangsal und der Rüge und der Lästerung ist dieser Tag, denn die Söhne sind gekommen bis zum Bruche und keine Kraft ist da zu gebären.
4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
Vielleicht hört Jehovah, dein Gott, all die Worte des Rabschakeh, den der König von Aschur, sein Herr, sandte, den lebendigen Gott zu schmähen, und wird strafen die Worte, die Jehovah, dein Gott, gehört hat. Und erhebe du ein Gebet für den Überrest, der sich findet.
5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
Und die Knechte des Königs Chiskijahu kamen zu Jesajah;
6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Und Jesajah sprach zu ihnen: So sollt ihr sprechen zu eurem Herrn: So spricht Jehovah: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehört, mit denen Mich die Jungen des Königs von Aschur verhöhnt haben.
7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Siehe, Ich gebe in ihm einen Geist, daß er ein Gerücht hört, und zurückkehrt nach seinem Land, und Ich lasse ihn durch das Schwert fallen in seinem Lande.
8 So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
Und Rabschakeh kehrte zurück und fand den König von Aschur im Streite wider Libnah; denn er hatte gehört, daß er von Lachisch aufgebrochen war.
9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
Und er hörte von Thirchakah, dem König von Kusch, also sprechen: Siehe, er ist ausgezogen mit dir zu streiten. Und er sandte wiederum Boten an Chiskijahu und sprach:
10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
So sprechet zu Chiskijahu, dem König von Judah, und saget: Laß dich nicht verführen von deinem Gotte, auf Den du vertraust, daß du sprichst: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hand des Königs von Aschur gegeben werden.
11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?
Siehe, du hast gehört, was die Könige von Aschur allen Ländern taten, daß sie sie verbannten, und du willst errettet werden?
12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?
Haben die Götter der Völkerschaften diejenigen errettet, die meine Väter verdorben haben: Gosan und Charan und Rezeph und die Söhne Edens, das in Thelassar ist.
13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?
Wo ist der König von Chamath und der König von Arpad und der König über die Stadt Sepharvaim, Hena und Ivah?
14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
Und Chiskijahu nahm die Briefe aus der Hand der Boten und las sie und ging hinauf zum Haus Jehovahs, und Chiskijahu breitete sie aus vor Jehovah;
15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
Und Chiskijahu betete vor Jehovah und sprach: Jehovah, Gott Israels, Der Du sitzest auf den Cheruben, Du bist der Gott, Du allein über alle Königreiche der Erde, Du hast die Himmel und die Erde gemacht!
16 Lord, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, Lord, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
Neige, Jehovah, Dein Ohr und höre; tue auf, Jehovah, Deine Augen und siehe und höre die Worte Sancheribs, der gesandt hat, zu schmähen den lebendigen Gott.
17 Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
Wahrlich, Jehovah, die Könige von Aschur haben die Völkerschaften und ihr Land verödet.
18 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Und ihre Götter ins Feuer geworfen; denn sie sind keine Götter, sondern ein Werk von den Händen des Menschen gemacht, Holz und Stein, und die haben sie zugrunde gerichtet.
19 Now therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord God, even thou only.
Nun aber, Jehovah, unser Gott, rette uns doch aus seiner Hand, auf daß alle Königreiche der Erde wissen, daß Du, Jehovah, alleiniger Gott bist.
20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
Und Jesajah, der Sohn des Amoz, sandte an Chiskijahu und sprach: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Was du zu Mir wider Sancherib, den König von Aschur, gebetet hast, habe Ich gehört.
21 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
Das ist das Wort, das Jehovah über ihn geredet hat: Es verachtet dich und verlacht dich die Jungfrau, die Tochter Zijons, hinter dir her schüttelt das Haupt die Tochter Jerusalems.
22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Wen hast du geschmäht und verhöhnt? und gegen wen hast du die Stimme erhöht und deine Augen erhoben? Gegen den Heiligen Israels.
23 By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
Durch die Hand deiner Boten hast du den Herrn geschmäht und gesprochen: Mit meinen vielen Streitwagen bin ich auf die Höhe der Berge hinaufgefahren, an die Seiten des Libanon, und habe ausgerottet seine hohen Zedern, die Auswahl seiner Tannen, und kam an das Ende seiner Behausung, den Wald seines Karmel.
24 I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.
Ich habe hinabgegraben und getrunken fremde Wasser, und trockne aus mit der Sohle meiner Fußtritte alle Ströme Ägyptens.
25 Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
Hast du nicht gehört, daß Ich von ferne her es getan, daß von den Tagen der Vorzeit her Ich es gebildet? Nun laß Ich es kommen, daß du seist ein Zertrümmerer der festen Städte zu wüsten Steinhaufen.
26 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
Und die darin wohnen werden schwach von Hand, sie werden sich entsetzen und beschämt werden; sie werden wie Kraut des Feldes und Grün des jungen Krautes, Gras der Dächer und Brandkorn, ehe es aufschießt.
27 But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
Dein Sitzen und deinen Ausgang und deinen Eingang weiß Ich und deinen Aufruhr gegen Mich.
28 Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
Weil dein Aufruhr wider Mich und deine Sorglosigkeit zu Meinen Ohren heraufkam, so will Ich Meinen Haken in deine Nase legen und Meinen Zaum in deine Lippen, und dich zurückbringen auf dem Wege, auf dem du gekommen bist.
29 And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
Und dies sei dir das Zeichen: Das Jahr esset ihr, was von selbst gewachsen, und im zweiten Jahr solches, das aus diesem nachgewachsen, und im dritten Jahr sollt ihr säen und ernten, und Weinberge pflanzen und deren Frucht essen.
30 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
Und wiederum werden die Entkommenen des Hauses Judah, die verbleiben, nach unten Wurzel ansetzen und nach oben Frucht bringen.
31 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.
Denn von Jerusalem soll ausgehen ein Überrest und die Entkommenen vom Berge Zijon. Der Eifer Jehovahs wird das tun.
32 Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
Darum spricht Jehovah über den König von Aschur also: Er soll nicht an diese Stadt kommen und keinen Pfeil dahin schießen, und nicht vor sie bringen den Schild und keinen Wall aufschütten wider sie.
33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.
Auf dem Wege, da er gekommen ist, soll er zurückkehren, und zu dieser Stadt soll er nicht kommen, spricht Jehovah.
34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
Und beschirmen will Ich diese Stadt, daß Ich sie rette um Meinetwillen und um Davids, Meines Knechtes, willen.
35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
Und es geschah in selbiger Nacht, daß der Engel Jehovahs ausging und im Lager Aschurs schlug hundertfünfundachtzigtausend; und sie standen früh am Morgen auf, und siehe, da waren sie alle Leichen der Gestorbenen.
36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Und Sancherib, der König von Aschur, brach auf und ging hin und kehrte zurück, und er wohnte in Niniveh.
37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
Und es geschah, da er anbetete im Hause Nisrochs, seines Gottes, da schlugen ihn mit dem Schwerte Adrammelech und Scharezer und entrannen in das Land Ararat, und Esar-Chaddon, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.
