2 Corinthians 3
1 DO we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
Fangen wir schon wieder an, uns selber zu empfehlen? Oder brauchen wir, wie andere, etwa Empfehlungsschreiben wie an euch, so auch von euch?
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Unser Empfehlungsbrief seid ihr, in unser Herz hineingeschrieben, verständlich und für jedermann zu lesen.
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Ganz offensichtlich seid ihr selber Christi Brief, von uns besorgt, geschrieben nicht mit Tinte, sondern mit dem Geiste des lebendigen Gottes, und nicht auf steinerne Tafeln, vielmehr auf fleischerne Herzenstafeln.
4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
Ein solches Vertrauen haben wir auf Gott durch Christus.
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Nicht als ob wir aus uns selbst, aus eigener Kraft schon fähig wären, auch nur einen Gedanken zu fassen; nein, unsere Fähigkeit dazu stammt aus Gott,
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
der uns zu Dienern des Neuen Bundes befähigt hat. Es ist kein Bund des Buchstabens, vielmehr des Geistes; denn der Buchstabe tötet, der Geist aber macht lebendige
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
Wenn nun schon der Dienst des Todes, der mit Buchstaben auf Stein gegraben war, mit solcher Herrlichkeit erfolgte, daß die Kinder Israels dem Moses nicht ins Antlitz schauen konnten wegen des Glanzes seines Angesichtes, der doch verging,
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
um wieviel mehr wird dann der Dienst des Geistes in Herrlichkeit bestehen.
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
Wenn der Dienst der Verdammung schon so herrlich war, dann ist der Dienst der Rechtfertigung noch viel reicher an Herrlichkeit.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
Ja, die Verherrlichung in diesem Falle schwindet hin vor dieser übergroßen Herrlichkeit.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
Denn wenn schon das Vergängliche durch Herrlichkeit geoffenbart ward, um wieviel mehr wird dann das Bleibende noch viel herrlicher sein.
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
Im Besitz einer solchen Hoffnung treten wir mit großem Freimut auf.
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
Wir machen es nicht wie Moses, der sein Angesicht verhüllte, damit die Kinder Israels das Ende des Vergänglichen nicht sehen sollten.
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
Jedoch ihr Sinn ward verhärtet; denn bis zum heutigen Tage bleibt die gleiche Hülle unaufgedeckt bei der Lesung des Alten Testamentes, da nicht enthüllt wird, daß es in Christus seine Wirksamkeit verliert.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
Im Gegenteil, bis zum heutigen Tage, wenn Moses vorgelesen wird, liegt auf ihrem Herzen eine Hülle.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
Doch wenn es sich zum Herrn bekehrt, dann wird die Hülle weggenommen.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Der Herr ist der Geist; wo der Geist des Herrn ist, da ist Freiheit.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Wir alle aber schauen die Herrlichkeit des Herrn mit unverhülltem Angesicht wie im Spiegel und werden in dasselbe Bild umgestaltet werden, zu immer größerer Herrlichkeit gerade durch den Geist des Herrn.
