1 Thessalonians 4
1 FURTHERMORE then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
Hatimaye, ndugu, twawatia moyo na kuwasihi kwa Yesu Kristo. Kama mlivyopokea maelekezo toka kwetu namna iwapasavyo kuenenda na kumpendeza Mungu, kwa njia hiyo pia muenende na kutenda zaidi.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
Kwa kuwa mwajua ni maelekezo gani tuliyowapa kupitia Bwana Yesu.
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
Kwa kuwa haya ndiyo mapenzi ya Mungu: utakaso wenu - kwamba muepuke zinaa,
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
Kwamba kila mmoja wenu anajua namna ya kumiliki mke wake mwenyewe katika utakatifu na heshima.
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
Usiwe na mke kwa ajili ya tamaa za mwili (kama Mataifa wasiomjua Mungu).
6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
Asiwepo mtu yeyote atakaye vuka mipaka na kumkosea nduguye kwa ajili ya jambo hili. Kwa kuwa Bwana ndiye mwenye kulipa kisasi kwa mambo yote haya, kama tulivyo tangulia kuwaonya na kushuhudia.
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
Kwa kuwa Bwana hakutuita kwa uchafu, bali kwa utakatifu.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
Kwa hiyo anayelikataa hili hawakatai watu, bali anamkataa Mungu, anayewapa Roho Mtakatifu wake.
9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
Kuhusu upendo wa ndugu, hakuna haja ya mtu yeyote kukuandikia, kwa kuwa mmefundishwa na Mungu kupendana ninyi kwa ninyi.
10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
Hakika, mlifanya haya yote kwa ndugu walioko Makedonia yote, lakini twawasihi, ndugu, mfanye hata na zaidi.
11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
Twawasihi mtamani kuishi maisha ya utulivu, kujali shughuli zenu, na kufanya kazi kwa mikono yenu, kama tulivyowaamuru.
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Fanya haya ili uweze kuenenda vizuri na kwa heshima kwa hao walio nje ya imani, ili usipungukiwe na hitaji lolote.
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
Hatutaki ninyi muelewe isivyo sahihi, enyi ndugu, juu ya hao waliolala, ili msije mkahuzunika kama wengine wasio na uhakika kuhusu wakati ujao.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Iwapo tunaamini kuwa Yesu alikufa na akafufuka tena, vivyo hivyo Mungu atawaleta pamoja na Yesu hao waliolala mauti katika yeye.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
Kwa ajili ya hayo twawaambia ninyi kwa neno la Bwana, kwamba sisi tulio hai, tutakaokuwepo wakati wa kuja kwake Bwana, hakika hatutawatangulia wale waliolala mauti.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Kwa kuwa Bwana mwenyewe atashuka toka mawinguni. Atakuja na sauti kuu, pamoja na sauti ya malaika mkuu, pamoja na parapanda ya Mungu, nao waliokufa katika Kristo watafufuka kwanza.
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Kisha sisi tulio hai, tuliobaki, tutaungana katika mawingu pamoja nao kumlaki Bwana hewani. Kwa njia hii tutakuwa na Bwana siku zote.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Kwa hiyo, mfarijiane ninyi kwa ninyi kwa maneno haya.
