1 Thessalonians 3
1 WHEREFORE when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
Kae fekau atu ʻa Timote, ko homau tokoua, mo e faifekau ʻae ʻOtua, mo ʻemau kaungā ngaue ʻi he ongoongolelei ʻa Kalaisi, ke fakamālohi ʻakimoutolu, pea ke fakafiemālieʻi ʻakimoutolu ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou tui:
3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
Koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa ngaueue ha taha ʻi he ngaahi mamahi ni: he ʻoku mou ʻilo kuo tuʻutuʻuni ʻakitautolu ki ai.
4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
He ko e moʻoni, ʻi heʻemau ʻiate kimoutolu, naʻa mau tomuʻa tala kiate kimoutolu ʻe tautea ʻakimautolu; ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe hoko, pea ʻoku mou ʻilo.
5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

6 But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
Ka ko eni, ʻi he hoko mai ʻa Timote meiate kimoutolu, ʻo ʻomi kiate kimautolu ʻae ongoongolelei ʻo hoʻomou tui mo e ʻofa, pea mo hoʻomou manatu lelei maʻuaipē kiate kimautolu, ʻo holi lahi ke mamata kiate kimautolu, ʻo hangē ko kimautolu kiate kimoutolu:
7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
Ko ia, ʻe kāinga, naʻa mau fiemālie ʻiate kimoutolu, ʻi heʻemau mamahi mo e tuʻutāmaki kotoa pē, ʻi hoʻomou tui:
8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
He ʻoku mau moʻui eni, ʻo kapau ʻoku mou tuʻumaʻu ʻi he ʻEiki.
9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
He ko e hā ʻae fakafetaʻi te mau faʻa ʻatu ki he ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, ʻi he fiefia kotoa pē ʻoku mau fiefia ai ʻi he ʻao ʻo hotau ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu;
10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
ʻo lotu lahi ʻaupito ʻi he pō mo e ʻaho, koeʻuhi ke mau mamata ki homou mata, pea ke mau fakakakato ʻaia ʻoku toe ʻi hoʻomou tui?
11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
Pea ko eni, ke ʻi he ʻOtua pe ko ʻetau Tamai, mo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, ke fakahinohino homau hala kiate kimoutolu.
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
Pea ke fakafonu ʻakimoutolu ʻe he ʻEiki, ke mou tupulekina lahi ʻi he feʻofaʻaki ʻakimoutolu kiate kimoutolu, pea ki he kakai kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko kimautolu kiate kimoutolu
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Koeʻuhi ke ne fokotuʻumaʻu ʻo taʻehalaia homou loto ʻi he māʻoniʻoni, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua, ko ʻetau Tamai, ʻi he hāʻele mai ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi mo ʻene kau māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē.
