1 Corinthians 11
1 BE ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Sean imitadores de mí, como yo de Cristo.
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
Los alabo, porque en todo se acuerdan de mí y retienen las instrucciones como las entregué.
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Pero quiero que ustedes sepan que Cristo es la cabeza de todo varón, y el esposo, [la ]cabeza de [la] esposa, y Dios, [la ]Cabeza de Cristo.
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
Todo varón que habla con Dios o que predica con [la] cabeza cubierta, deshonra su Cabeza.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Pero toda mujer que habla con Dios o que predica sin velo en la cabeza deshonra su cabeza, porque está como si estuviera rapada.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
Porque si una mujer no se cubre, que se corte el cabello. Y si es vergonzoso para una mujer cortarse el cabello, o raparse, que se cubra.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
Porque [el] hombre, quien es imagen y resplandor de Dios, no debe cubrirse la cabeza, pero la mujer es el resplandor del hombre.
8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
Porque no procede el varón de la mujer, sino la mujer del varón,
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
porque no fue creado un varón de una mujer, sino una mujer de un varón.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
Por tanto [la] mujer debe tener autoridad sobre su cabeza por causa de los ángeles.
11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
Sin embargo, en el Señor, ni la mujer es independiente del hombre, ni el hombre, independiente de la mujer.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
Porque así como la mujer [procede] del varón, también el varón nace de la mujer, pero todas las cosas [proceden] de Dios.
13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
Juzguen entre ustedes mismos: ¿Es conveniente que una mujer hable con Dios sin velo sobre su cabeza?
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
¿No les enseña la misma naturaleza que si un varón deja crecer el cabello le es una deshonra,
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
pero, si una mujer deja crecer su cabello le es un esplendor? Porque se le dio en lugar de cubierta.
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Pero, si alguno quiere contradecir, sepa que nosotros y las iglesias de Dios no tenemos tal costumbre.
17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
En la instrucción que les voy a dar, no [los ]alabo, porque ustedes no se congregan para lo mejor, sino para lo peor.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
En primer lugar oigo que hay divisiones entre ustedes cuando se reúnen como iglesia. En parte lo creo.
19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
Porque también es necesario que haya grupos de diferente opinión entre ustedes para que se manifiesten los que son aprobados.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.
Cuando ustedes se reúnen en un lugar, no significa que lo que comen es [la] cena del Señor.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
Porque cuando comen, cada uno se adelanta a comer su propia cena. Uno tiene hambre y otro se embriaga.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
¿No tienen casas donde comer y beber? ¿Desprecian la iglesia de Dios y humillan a los que no tienen? ¿Qué les digo? ¿Los alabo? En esto no [los] alabo.
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
Porque yo recibí del Señor lo mismo que les enseñé: Que el Señor Jesús, la noche cuando fue entregado, tomó pan,
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
dio gracias, lo partió y dijo: Esto es mi cuerpo que por ustedes [es partido]. Hagan esto en memoria de Mí.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
De la misma manera, después de comer tomó la copa y dijo: Esta copa es el Nuevo Pacto [confirmado] en mi sangre. Hagan esto en memoria de Mí cuantas veces la beban.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
Porque cada vez que coman este pan y beban la copa, la muerte del Señor proclaman hasta cuando Él venga.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Por tanto, cualquiera que coma el pan o beba la copa del Señor indignamente, será culpable del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Así que examínese cada uno, y luego coma del pan y beba de la copa.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
Porque el que come y bebe sin reconocer el Cuerpo, juicio come y bebe para él.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Por esto hay muchos débiles y enfermos entre ustedes y muchos duermen.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Si nos evaluamos a nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Pero al ser juzgados, somos disciplinados por [el] Señor, para que no seamos condenados por el mundo.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
Por tanto, hermanos míos, cuando se reúnen para comer, espérense unos a otros.
34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
Si alguno tiene hambre, coma en casa, a fin de que no se reúnan para juicio. Dispondré las demás cosas cuando vaya.
