Song of Solomon 3
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I found him not.
De noite busquei em minha cama a quem a minha alma ama: busquei-o, e não o achei.
2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I found him not.
Levantar-me-ei, pois, e rodearei a cidade; pelas ruas e pelas praças buscarei a quem ama a minha alma: busquei-o; e não o achei.
3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw you him whom my soul loves?
Acharam-me os guardas, que rondavam pela cidade: eu lhes perguntei: Vistes a quem ama a minha alma?
4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loves: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
Apartando-me eu um pouco deles, logo achei a quem ama a minha alma: agarrei-me a ele, e não o larguei, até que o introduzi em casa de minha mãe, na câmara daquela que me gerou.
5 I charge you, O you daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that you stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
Conjuro-vos, ó filhas de Jerusalém, pelas corças e cervas do campo, que não acordeis, nem desperteis o meu amor, até que queira.
6 Who is this that comes out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
Quem é esta que sobe do deserto, como umas colunas de fumo, perfumada de mirra, de incenso, e de toda a sorte de pós do especieiro?
7 Behold his bed, which is Solomon’s; three score valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.
Eis que é a cama de Salomão; sessenta valentes estão ao redor dela, dos valentes de Israel:
8 They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man has his sword on his thigh because of fear in the night.
Todos armados de espadas, dextros na guerra: cada um com a sua espada à coxa por causa dos temores noturnos.
9 King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
O rei Salomão fez para si um tálamo de madeira do líbano.
10 He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the middle thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
Fez-lhe as colunas de prata, o estrado de ouro, o assento de púrpura, o interior coberto com o amor das filhas de Jerusalém.
11 Go forth, O you daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
Saí, ó filhas de Sião, e contemplai ao rei Salomão com a coroa com que o coroou sua mãe no dia do seu desposório e no dia do júbilo do seu coração.
