< Psalms 99 >
1 The LORD reigns; let the people tremble: he sits between the cherubim; let the earth be moved.
The LORD reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned amongst the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.
2 The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
The LORD is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise your great and terrible name; for it is holy.
Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy!
4 The king’s strength also loves judgment; you do establish equity, you execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
The King’s strength also loves justice. You establish equity. You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 Exalt you the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
Exalt the LORD our God. Worship at his footstool. He is Holy!
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call on his name; they called on the LORD, and he answered them.
Moses and Aaron were amongst his priests, Samuel was amongst those who call on his name. They called on the LORD, and he answered them.
7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.
8 You answered them, O LORD our God: you were a God that forgave them, though you took vengeance of their inventions.
You answered them, LORD our God. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.
9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.
Exalt the LORD, our God. Worship at his holy hill, for the LORD, our God, is holy!
