Psalms 64

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Poslušaj moj glas, oh Bog, v moji molitvi, varuj moje življenje strahu pred sovražnikom.

2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

Skrij me pred skrivnim načrtom hudobnih, pred vstajo delavcev krivičnosti,

3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

ki brusijo svoj jezik kakor meč in upogibajo svoje loke, da bi streljali svoje puščice, celó grenke besede,

4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

da bi lahko na skrivnem streljali na popolnega. Nenadoma streljajo nanj in se ne bojijo.

5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privately; they say, Who shall see them?

Med seboj se hrabrijo v zli zadevi. Na skrivaj se posvetujejo o nastavljanju zank; pravijo: »Kdo jih bo videl?«

6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

Preiskujejo krivičnosti, dovršijo marljivo iskanje. Notranja misel vsakogar izmed njih in srce, oboje je globoko.

7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

Toda Bog bo nanje streljal s puščico, nenadoma bodo ranjeni.

8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall on themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

Tako bodo dosegli, da bo njihov lastni jezik padel nanje. Vsi, ki jih vidijo, bodo zbežali stran.

9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

Vsi ljudje se bodo bali in bodo oznanjali Božje delo, kajti o njegovem dejanju bodo modro preudarjali.

10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Pravični bodo veseli v Gospodu in bodo zaupali vanj in vsi iskreni v srcu bodo ponosni.
