Psalms 52

1 Why boast you yourself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endures continually.

2 The tongue devises mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

La tua lingua divisa malizie; [Ella è] come un rasoio affilato, [o tu], operatore d'inganni.

3 You love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. (Selah)

Tu hai amato il male più che il bene; La menzogna più che il parlare dirittamente.

4 You love all devouring words, O you deceitful tongue.

Tu hai amate tutte le parole di ruina, O lingua frodolente.

5 God shall likewise destroy you for ever, he shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah)

Iddio altresì ti distruggerà in eterno; Egli ti atterrerà, e ti divellerà dal [tuo] tabernacolo, E ti diradicherà dalla terra de' viventi. (Sela)

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

E i giusti lo vedranno, e temeranno; E si rideranno di lui, [dicendo: ]

7 See, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Ecco l'uomo [che] non aveva posto Iddio [per] sua fortezza; Anzi si confidava nella grandezza delle sue ricchezze, E si fortificava nella sua malizia.

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Ma io [sarò] come un ulivo verdeggiante nella Casa di Dio; Io mi confido nella benignità di Dio in sempiterno.

9 I will praise you for ever, because you have done it: and I will wait on your name; for it is good before your saints.

[O Signore], io ti celebrerò in eterno; perciocchè tu avrai operato; E spererò nel tuo Nome, perciocchè [è] buono, [Ed è] presente a' tuoi santi.
