Psalms 4
1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Néguinoth. Ô Dieu! de ma justice, puisque je crie, réponds-moi; quand j'étais à l'étroit, tu m'as mis au large; aie pitié de moi, et exauce ma requête.
2 O you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame? how long will you love vanity, and seek after leasing? (Selah)
Gens d'autorité, jusqu'à quand ma gloire sera-t-elle diffamée? [jusqu'à quand] aimerez-vous la vanité, et chercherez-vous le mensonge? (Sélah)
3 But know that the LORD has set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call to him.
Or sachez que l'Eternel s'est choisi un bien-aimé. L'Eternel m'exaucera quand je crierai vers lui.
4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart on your bed, and be still. (Selah)
Tremblez, et ne péchez point; pensez en vous-mêmes sur votre couche, et demeurez tranquilles. (Sélah)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Sacrifiez des sacrifices de justice, et confiez-vous en l'Eternel.
6 There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift you up the light of your countenance on us.
Plusieurs disent: qui nous fera voir des biens? Lève sur nous la clarté de ta face, ô Eternel!
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
Tu as mis plus de joie dans mon cœur, qu'ils n'en ont au temps que leur froment et leur meilleur vin ont été abondants.
8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, LORD, only make me dwell in safety.
Je me coucherai et je dormirai aussi en paix; car toi seul, ô Eternel! me feras habiter en assurance.
