Psalms 38
1 O lord, rebuke me not in your wrath: neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.
Psalam. Davidov. Za spomen. Jahve, u srdžbi svojoj nemoj ne karati, i nemoj me kazniti u svojemu gnjevu.
2 For your arrows stick fast in me, and your hand presses me sore.
Strijele se tvoje u me zabodoše, ruka me tvoja teško pritisnu:
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
na tijelu mi ništa zdravo nema zbog gnjeva tvog, od grijeha mojih mira mi nema kostima.
4 For my iniquities are gone over my head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Zloće moje glavu su mi nadišle, kao preteško breme tište me.
5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
Rane moje zaudaraju i gnjiju zbog bezumnosti moje.
6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
Pogurih se sav i zgrčih, povazdan lutam žalostan.
7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
Moji bokovi puni su ognjice, na tijelu mi ništa zdravo nema.
8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
Iscrpljen sam i satrven posve, stenjem od jecanja srca svojega.
9 Lord, all my desire is before you; and my groaning is not hid from you.
O Gospode, sve su mi želje pred tobom, i vapaji moji nisu ti skriveni.
10 My heart pants, my strength fails me: as for the light of my eyes, it also is gone from me.
Srce mi udara silno, snaga me ostavlja i svjetlost vida očinjeg gasi se.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
Prijatelji i drugovi od rana mojih uzmakoše, i moji najbliži stoje daleko.
12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
Namještaju mi zamke oni koji mi život vrebaju, koji mi žele nesreću, propašću mi prijete i uvijek smišljaju prijevare.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth.
A ja sam kao gluh i ništa ne čujem i, kao nijem, usta ne otvaram.
14 Thus I was as a man that hears not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
Postadoh k'o čovjek koji ne čuje i koji u ustima nema odgovora.
15 For in you, O LORD, do I hope: you will hear, O Lord my God.
Jer u tebe se, o Jahve, uzdam, ti ćeš me uslišati, Jahve, Bože moj!
16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me.
Rekoh: “Nek' se ne raduju nada mnom; kad mi noga posrne, nek' se ne uzdižu nada mnom!”
17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
Jer umalo ne propadoh, i moja je bol svagda preda mnom.
18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
Bezakonje svoje ja priznajem i pun sam žalosti zbog grijeha svojega.
19 But my enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
A koji su bez razloga protiv mene, moćni su, i mnogi su koji me mrze nepravedno.
20 They also that render evil for good are my adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
Za dobro zlom mi uzvraćaju, protive mi se što tražim dobro.
21 Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
O Jahve, ne ostavljaj me! Bože moj, ne udaljuj se od mene!
22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
Požuri se meni u pomoć, Gospode, spase moj!
