Psalms 31
1 In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness.
Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Ihubo likaDavida. Kuwe Thixo, sengithole isiphephelo; mangingayangiswa lanini; ngihlenga ngokulunga Kwakho.
2 Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defense to save me.
Ngilalela, woza ngokuphangisa ungihlenge; woba lidwala lami lokuphephela, inqaba eqinileyo yokungisindisa.
3 For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name’s sake lead me, and guide me.
Njengoba ulidwala lami lenqaba yami, ngikhokhela ungihole ngenxa yegama Lakho.
4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privately for me: for you are my strength.
Ngikhulula emjibileni othiyelwe mina, ngoba uyisiphephelo sami.
5 Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Ezandleni Zakho nginikela umphefumulo wami; ngihlenga, Oh Thixo, Nkulunkulu weqiniso.
6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
Ngiyabazonda labo abanamathela izithombe eziyize; ngithemba kuThixo.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities;
Ngizathokoza ngijabule othandweni Lwakho, ngoba wakubona ukuhlupheka kwami wabazi ubuhlungu bomphefumulo wami.
8 And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room.
Kawungifuqelanga esitheni kodwa ugxilise inyawo zami endaweni ebanzi.
9 Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: my eye is consumed with grief, yes, my soul and my belly.
Woba lomusa kimi, Oh Thixo, ngoba ngiyahlupheka; amehlo ami ayafiphala ngenxa yosizi, umphefumulo wami lomzimba wami ngokudabuka.
10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
Impilo yami incitshiswa yikukhathazeka, leminyaka yami yikububula; amandla ami ayadeda ngenxa yokuhlupheka kwami, lamathambo ami aphela amandla.
11 I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
Ngenxa yezitha zami, sengiyinhlekisa enjani kubomakhelwane; sengiyinhlekisa kubangane bami labo abangibonayo ezindleleni bayangibalekela.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
Sebekhohliwe ngami kungathi sengafa; senginjengembiza yebumba ehlephukileyo.
13 For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
Ngoba ngizwa izingoma zabanengi; kulezisongo inxa zonke; bakha amasu okungilimaza, njalo baceba ukuchitha impilo yami.
14 But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God.
Kodwa ngiyethemba Kuwe, Thixo; ngithi, “UnguNkulunkulu wami.”
15 My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Izikhathi zami zisezandleni Zakho; ngisindisa ezitheni zami lakulabo abangizingelayo.
16 Make your face to shine on your servant: save me for your mercies’ sake.
Ubuso Bakho mabukhazimulele encekwini Yakho; ngisindisa ngothando Lwakho olungehlulekiyo.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called on you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Mangingahlaziswa, Oh Thixo, ngoba sengikhalile Kuwe; kodwa akuthi ababi bahlaziswe balale bathule zwi ethuneni. (Sheol h7585)
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
Akuthi izindebe zabo zamanga zithuliswe, ezikhuluma ngokuzigqaja lokweyisa bakhuluma ngobuqholo ngabantu abalungileyo.
19 Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have worked for them that trust in you before the sons of men!
Kukhulu kangakanani ukulunga Kwakho okugcinele labo abakwesabayo, okunika obala abantu bebona kulabo abaphephela Kuwe.
20 You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Uyabafihla ekusithekeni kobukhona Bakho emaqingeni ababi uyabagcina bevikelwe emzini wakhe ezilimini ezichothozayo.
21 Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city.
Udumo alube kuThixo ngoba watshengisa uthando lwakhe olumangalisayo kimi ngisedolobheni elihanqiweyo yimpi.
22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to you.
Ngiphakathi kokwethuka ngathi, “Sengisusiwe kangisabonakali Kuwe!” Kanti wakuzwa ukukhala kwami ngicela umusa, lapho ngangicela kuwe ukusizwa.
23 O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD preserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer.
Mthandeni uThixo, lina bangcwele bakhe! UThixo uyabalondoloza abathembekileyo, kodwa abazigqajayo uyabaphindisela ngokugcweleyo.
24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.
Qinani lime isibindi, lonke lina elithemba uThixo.
