Psalms 16
1 Preserve me, O God: for in you do I put my trust.
En gyllen sang av David. Bevar mig, Gud! for jeg tar min tilflukt til dig.
2 O my soul, you have said to the LORD, You are my Lord: my goodness extends not to you;
Jeg sier til Herren: Du er min Herre; jeg har intet gode utenfor dig -
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
idet jeg holder mig til de hellige som er i landet, og de herlige i hvem jeg har all min lyst.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
Mange sorger skal de ha som kjøper sig andre; jeg vil ikke utgyde deres drikkoffere av blod og ikke ta deres navn på mine leber.
5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: you maintain my lot.
Herren er min tilfalne del og mitt beger; du gjør min lodd herlig.
6 The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a goodly heritage.
En lodd er tilfalt mig som er liflig, og en arv som behager mig.
7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Jeg vil love Herren, som gav mig råd; også om nettene minner mine nyrer mig om det.
8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Jeg setter alltid Herren for mig; for han er ved min høire hånd, jeg skal ikke rokkes.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Derfor gleder mitt hjerte sig, og min ære fryder sig; også mitt kjød skal bo i trygghet.
10 For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
For du skal ikke overlate min sjel til dødsriket, du skal ikke la din hellige se forråtnelse. (Sheol h7585)
11 You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for ever more.
Du skal kunngjøre mig livets vei; gledes fylde er for ditt åsyn, livsalighet ved din høire hånd evindelig.
