Psalms 129

1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

Kanengi bangihluphile kusukela ebutsheni bami, katsho-ke uIsrayeli,

2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

kanengi bangihluphile kusukela ebutsheni bami, kanti kabangehlulanga.

3 The plowers plowed on my back: they made long their furrows.

Abalimi balima emhlana wami, bayenza yaba mide imifolo yabo.

4 The LORD is righteous: he has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

INkosi ilungile, iqumile intambo zababi.

5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

Kabayangeke babuyiselwe emuva bonke abazonda iZiyoni.

6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which wither before it grows up:

Kababe njengotshani ephahleni, obubuna bungakakhuli,

7 With which the mower fills not his hand; nor he that binds sheaves his bosom.

ovunayo angagcwalisi ngabo isandla sakhe, lalowo obopha izithungo isifuba sakhe.

8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be on you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

Labadlulayo bangatsho ukuthi: Isibusiso seNkosi kasibe phezu kwenu; siyalibusisa ebizweni leNkosi.
