Psalms 103
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
De David. Mon âme, bénis Yahweh, et que tout ce qui est en moi bénisse son saint nom!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Mon âme, bénis Yahweh, et n’oublie pas ses nombreux bienfaits.
3 Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;
C’est lui qui pardonne toutes tes iniquités, qui guérit toutes tes maladies;
4 Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;
C’est lui qui délivre ta vie de la fosse, qui te couronne de bonté et de miséricorde.
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
C’est lui qui comble de biens tes désirs; et ta jeunesse renouvelée a la vigueur de l’aigle.
6 The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Yahweh exerce la justice, il fait droit à tous les opprimés.
7 He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the children of Israel.
Il a manifesté ses voies à Moïse, ses grandes œuvres aux enfants d’Israël.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Yahweh est miséricordieux et compatissant, lent à la colère et riche en bonté.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Ce n’est pas pour toujours qu’il réprimande, il ne garde pas à jamais sa colère.
10 He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Il ne nous traite pas selon nos péchés, et ne nous châtie pas selon nos iniquités.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Car autant les cieux sont élevés au-dessus de la terre, autant sa bonté est grande envers ceux qui le craignent.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Autant l’orient est loin de l’occident, autant il éloigne de nous nos transgressions.
13 Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him.
Comme un père a compassion de ses enfants, Yahweh a compassion de ceux qui le craignent.
14 For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Car il sait de quoi nous sommes formés, il se souvient que nous sommes poussière.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
L’homme! Ses jours sont comme l’herbe, il fleurit comme la fleur des champs.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Qu’un souffle passe sur lui, il n’est plus, et le lieu qu’il occupait ne le connaît plus.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on them that fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children;
Mais la bonté de Yahweh dure à jamais pour ceux qui le craignent, et sa justice pour les enfants de leurs enfants,
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
pour ceux qui gardent son alliance, et se souviennent de ses commandements pour les observer.
19 The LORD has prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom rules over all.
Yahweh a établi son trône dans les cieux, et son empire s’étend sur toutes choses.
20 Bless the LORD, you his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening to the voice of his word.
Bénissez Yahweh, vous ses anges, qui êtes puissants et forts, et qui exécutez ses ordres, en obéissant à la voix de sa parole.
21 Bless you the LORD, all you his hosts; you ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Bénissez Yahweh vous toutes ses armées, qui êtes ses serviteurs et qui exécutez sa volonté!
22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
Bénissez Yahweh, vous toutes, ses œuvres, dans tous les lieux de sa domination! Mon âme, bénis Yahweh!
