< Proverbs 27 >
1 Boast not yourself of to morrow; for you know not what a day may bring forth.
Mfa ɔkyena nhoahoa wo ho, na wonnim deɛ ɛda bi de bɛba.
2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
Ma ɔfoforɔ nkamfo wo; na ɛnyɛ wʼankasa; ma ɛmfiri ɔfoforɔ anomu na ɛnyɛ wo.
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath is heavier than them both.
Ɛboɔ mu yɛ duru, na anwea yɛ adesoa, nanso ɔkwasea abufuhyeɛ yɛ duru sene emu biara.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
Abufuo tirim yɛ den, na abufuhyeɛ sɛe adeɛ, na hwan na ɔbɛtumi agyina ninkuntwe ano?
5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Animka a ɛda edwa yɛ sene ɔdɔ a asuma.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Apirakuro a ɛfiri adamfo nkyɛn no yɛ sene ɔtamfoɔ mfeano bebrebe.
7 The full soul loathes an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
Ɛwoɔ nyɛ deɛ wameeɛ akɔnnɔ, nanso deɛ ɛkɔm de noɔ no, deɛ ɛyɛ nwono yɛ nʼanom dɛ.
8 As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man that wanders from his place.
Onipa a wayera ne fie ɛkwan, te sɛ anomaa a wafiri ne pirebuo mu rekyinkyini.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so does the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
Ngo ne aduhwam ma akoma ani gye, adamfo ho anigyeɛ firi nʼafotu pa a ɔma.
10 Your own friend, and your father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into your brother’s house in the day of your calamity: for better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.
Nnyaa wʼadamfo ne wʼagya adamfo mu, nkɔ wo nuabarima fie ɛberɛ a ɔhaw ato woɔ, na ɔyɔnko a ɔbɛn woɔ no yɛ sene onuabarima a ɔwɔ akyirikyiri.
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproaches me.
Me ba, hunu nyansa na ma mʼakoma ani nnye; ɛno na ɛbɛma manya mmuaeɛ ama obiara a ɔbu me animtiaa.
12 A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Mmadwemma hunu asiane na wɔhinta, nanso ntetekwaafoɔ kɔ wɔn anim kɔtɔ mu.
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
Fa atadeɛ a ɛhyɛ obi a ɔdi ɔhɔhoɔ akagyinamu; sɛ ɔregyina ɔbaa huhufoɔ akyi a, fa si awowa.
14 He that blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
Sɛ obi team hyira ne yɔnko anɔpahema a, wɔbɛfa no sɛ ɛyɛ nnome.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
Ɔyere ntɔkwapɛfoɔ te sɛ osutɔ da nsusosɔ a ɛnnyae da;
16 Whoever hides her hides the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which denudes itself.
sɛ wopata no a, ɛte sɛ deɛ wopata mframa anaa wode wo nsa bɛsɔ ngo mu.
17 Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Dadeɛ se dadeɛ, saa ara na onipa se ɔfoforɔ.
18 Whoever keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waits on his master shall be honored.
Deɛ ɔhwɛ borɔdɔma dua so no bɛdi ɛso aba, na deɛ ɔsom ne wura no, wɔbɛhyɛ no animuonyam.
19 As in water face answers to face, so the heart of man to man.

20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied. (Sheol )
Sɛdeɛ Owuo ne Ɔsɛeɛ bo ntɔ da no, saa ara, na onipa ani nso bo ntɔ da. (Sheol )
21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
Kyɛmferɛ wɔ hɔ ma dwetɛ na fononoo wɔ hɔ ma sikakɔkɔɔ, nanso wɔnam nkamfo a onipa nya so na ɛso no hwɛ.
22 Though you should bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
Sɛ wowɔ ɔkwasea wɔ ɔwaduro mu, sɛ wode ɔwɔma wɔ no te sɛ deɛ wosi aburoo a, worentumi nnyi agyimisɛm mfiri ne ho.
23 Be you diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds.
Ma ɛnyɛ wo asɛnhia sɛ wobɛhunu wo nnwankuo tebea, na ma wʼani nkɔ wʼanantwikuo so;
24 For riches are not for ever: and does the crown endure to every generation?
ɛfiri sɛ, ahonya ntena hɔ daa, na ahenkyɛ ntena hɔ mma awoɔ ntoantoasoɔ nyinaa.
25 The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.

27 And you shall have goats’ milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the maintenance for your maidens.
