< Proverbs 26 >
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not seemly for a fool.
Nipi laija buhbang kheh ding le chang-at laija gojuh ding akilom pon, hijeh chun mingol jana peh hi thil hahsa ahi.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
Inva kichao hat le pelpalep lengle banga, ajeh beija kigaosapna chu gui lhung lou helding ahi.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.
Sakol dinga ajepna akisem peh'a, sangan akamdal akisempeh bang in, mingol jong chu ajepna dinga mol kisem ahi.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like to him.

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

6 He that sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet, and drinks damage.
Mingol khat chu thupolea naman chahle, nakeng kitanboh tobang chule thina gudon tobang nahi ding ahi.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
Mingol kom'a thuchih kisei chu alangngoi panna bei tobang ahi.
8 As he that binds a stone in a sling, so is he that gives honor to a fool.
Mingol jana kipe chu songsena bom'a, song chang ohden tobang bep ahi.
9 As a thorn goes up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.
Mingol kam'a thuchih kiphongdoh jihi, jukham khut ling in asut vangpai tobang ahi.
10 The great God that formed all things both rewards the fool, and rewards transgressors.
Migoi pan mingol ham ahilouleh jukham hamkhat goikha achu, mi lah-a thal mohkap kappa tobang ahi.
11 As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.
Mingol in angol thu avelsei sei hi, aloh dohsa avel'a jonkit uicha tobang ahi.
12 See you a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Mihem ama le ama achinga kigel ho sang in, mingol din kinepna aum joi.
13 The slothful man says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
Mithase pan asam'in “Lamlen'a keipi bahkai aum e, khulai dunga jong keipi bahkai aum'e kahei!” ati.
14 As the door turns on his hinges, so does the slothful on his bed.
Kotpi akol hom sunga akipei leji bang in, mithase jong ajalkhun chunga akihei le ji bouchu ahi jenge.
15 The slothful hides his hand in his bosom; it grieves him to bring it again to his mouth.
Mithase chun akhut in bukong asoh jinan, hinlah akam geija akhut ledop ding athan ajou jitapoi.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

17 He that passes by, and meddles with strife belonging not to him, is like one that takes a dog by the ears.
Akin louhel'a mi kinahna'a gaki kumpa chu, uicha lhaile abilkol'a matding go tobang ahi.
18 As a mad man who casts firebrands, arrows, and death,
Mingol chon banga chon-jia aheng akom meise kaikhum a, chule thina thei thalpia kap jenga chu,
19 So is the man that deceives his neighbor, and says, Am not I in sport?
Aheng akom jou'a lhemlha ahin, “Katot ahipoi,” tin aseije.
20 Where no wood is, there the fire goes out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases.
Meija man ding thing abei teng mei akon-theilou bang in, kiseiset tona abei teng kinahna jong athipdel jin ahi.
21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

25 When he speaks fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
Khotona neitah banga thu asei teng jongleh, hitobang mihem chu tahsan hih hel in; ajeh chu ama tobang mihem lung sunga hin deium loutah thil sagi achengin ahi.
26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be showed before the whole congregation.
Mi ajoubolna chu jonchih tah in kisel doh jong le, mipi maija aphatlouna kiphong jah tei ding ahi.
27 Whoever digs a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolls a stone, it will return on him.
Koi hileh mi lhah lutna dinga khuh laija chu, amajoh lhalut ding chule michunga chu dia songtum tanga chu, asongtum tah chu ama chunga hung kiletah lut ding ahibouve.
28 A lying tongue hates those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth works ruin.
Thujou seina leigui hin mi asuh genthei ho chu ahot bol cheh jin, chule thujou jeng seija leigui hin manthahna jeng atongdoh in ahi.
