< Proverbs 11 >
1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Tiva am’ Iehovà ty fandanjàñe vìlañe, fe no’e ty vato to.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Ie avy ty firengeañe, pok’eo ka ty hasalarañe; fe mpiamo mpirekeo ty hihitse.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Miaolo o vantañeo ty havañona’e, fe mampianto i lahiaga ty fikelokeloha’e.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.
Tsy vente’e añ’andron-kankàñe ty vara, fe mamotsotse an-kavilasy ty havantañañe.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Mampahity ty lala’ o malio tahiñeo ty havantaña’e, fe mikorovok’ ami’ty haratia’e o lo-tserekeo.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
Mañaha ty vañoñe i havantaña’ey, fe hamahotse o piaroteñeo ty fatiti’iareo.
7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.
Ie mate ty lo-tsereke, momoke o fañiria’eo, vaho voroke ty fitamà’ i tsy mahitiy.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
Votsorañe amy falovilovia’ey ty vantañe, le mb’eo handimbe aze ty lo-tsereke.
9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
Mijoy ty rañe’e am-bava’e ty tsi-aman-Kàke, fe hilala ty mañaha o vañoñeo.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Ie miraorao o vantañeo, mirebeke ty rova; ie momoke ty lo-tsereke, inay ty firiñariñan-kobaiñe.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Mionjoñe ty rova tatae’ o vañoñeo, fe rotsahe’ ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo.
12 He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Po-hilala ty maniva ondaty, fe mianjiñe t’indaty mahilala.
13 A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
Mb’eo mb’eo i mpitolom-bolañey mampiborake ty nitangogoeñe, fe mahakafi-draha ty migahiñe.
14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Ie po-panoroañe, mihotrake o borizañeo, fe fandreketañe t’ie mitolom-pisafiry.
15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates indebtedness is sure.
Toe hisotry ty miantoke songon’ ambahiny, fe soa fiaro ty malai-mañoho-pitàñe.
16 A gracious woman retains honor: and strong men retain riches.
Asieñe ty rakemba matarike, vaho manontom-bara ty fanalolahy.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Mañasoa ty tro’e t’indaty matarike, fe mijoy ty vata’e ty mpampisoañe.
18 The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Mikarama hakoahañe ty lo-tsereke, fe ho soa tambe ty mitongy havantañañe.
19 As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
Ho veloñe ty mifahatse an-kavañonañe, fe hihomake ty mañean-karatiañe.
20 They that are of a fraudulent heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
Tiva am’ Iehovà ty mengok’ an-troke, fe ifalea’e ty mañavelo an-kahiti’e.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Tsy mikalafo te tsy ho po-lafa ty lo-tsereke, fe ho haha ty tiri’ o vantañeo.
22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
Hoe bange volamena ami’ty oron-dambo ty ampela montramontra tsy mahalie-batañe.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Ty hasoa avao ty fisalala’ o vañoñeo; fe haviñerañe ty fitamà’ i lahiaga.
24 There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.
Eo ty fampiparaitahañe mbe mampitombo avao; eo ty matity ami’ty mañeva, f’ie ho rarake.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
Hiraorao t’indaty matarike, vaho ho tondrahañe ka ty manondrake.
26 He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be on the head of him that sells it.
Honjire’ ondatio ty matity ampemba, fe fitahiañe ty ho añambone’ i mandetak’ azey.
27 He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.
Osiheñe ty mitsoe-kasoa, fe ami’ty mipay haratiañe, izay ty ho zoe’e.
28 He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Hihotrake ty miato vara, fe handrevake hoe ravets-atae maindoñe o vantañeo.
29 He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Handova tioke ty mpanolo-tsotry añ’anjomba’e, le hitoroñe ty mahihi-troke ty dagola.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.
Hataen-kaveloñe ty vokare’ o vantañeo, vaho mpandrekets’arofo ty mahihitse.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
Kanao ho tambezeñe an-tane atoy o vantañeo, àntsake ty tsereheñe naho o piaroteñeo.
