Philippians 2

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Por lo tanto, si hay alguna exhortación en Cristo, si hay algún consuelo de amor, si hay alguna comunión del Espíritu, si hay alguna misericordia y compasión,

2 Fulfill you my joy, that you be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

haced que mi alegría sea plena, teniendo los mismos sentimientos, teniendo el mismo amor, siendo unánimes, de un mismo parecer;

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

no haciendo nada por rivalidad o por presunción, sino con humildad, considerando cada uno a los demás como mejores que él mismo;

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

no mirando cada uno sólo lo suyo, sino también lo de los demás.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Tened presente esto, que también hubo en Cristo Jesús,

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

el cual, existiendo en forma de Dios, no consideró el ser igual a Dios como cosa a que aferrarse,

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

sino que se despojó a sí mismo, tomando la forma de siervo, hecho semejante a los hombres.

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.

Y hallándose en forma humana, se humilló a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, sí, la muerte de cruz.

9 Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Por eso Dios también lo exaltó en alto grado y le dio el nombre que está por encima de todo nombre,

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

para que ante el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en el cielo, en la tierra y debajo de la tierra,

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre.

12 Why, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Así que, amados míos, como siempre habéis obedecido, no sólo en mi presencia, sino ahora mucho más en mi ausencia, ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor.

13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Porque Dios es el que obra en vosotros tanto el querer como el hacer por su buena voluntad.

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Haced todo sin quejaros ni discutir,

15 That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the middle of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;

para que lleguéis a ser irreprochables e inofensivos, hijos de Dios sin defecto en medio de una generación torcida y perversa, en medio de la cual sois vistos como luces en el mundo,

16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.

sosteniendo la palabra de vida, para que tenga algo de que jactarse en el día de Cristo de que no corrí en vano ni trabajé en vano.

17 Yes, and if I be offered on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

Sí, y si me derramo en el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fe, me alegro y me regocijo con todos vosotros.

18 For the same cause also do you joy, and rejoice with me.

De la misma manera, ustedes también deben alegrarse y regocijarse conmigo.

19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly to you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

Pero espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros pronto a Timoteo, para que yo también me alegre al saber de vuestro estado.

20 For I have no man like minded, who will naturally care for your state.

Porque no tengo a nadie más afín, que se preocupe de verdad por vosotros.

21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.

Porque todos buscan lo suyo, no las cosas de Jesucristo.

22 But you know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he has served with me in the gospel.

Pero tú sabes que él se ha probado a sí mismo. Como un hijo sirve a un padre, así ha servido conmigo en la promoción de la Buena Nueva.

23 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

Por eso espero enviarlo enseguida, en cuanto vea cómo me va a ir.

24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

Pero confío en el Señor que yo mismo también vendré pronto.

25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

Pero consideré necesario enviaros a Epafrodito, mi hermano, compañero de trabajo, compañero de milicia, y vuestro apóstol y servidor de mi necesidad,

26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that you had heard that he had been sick.

ya que anhelaba a todos vosotros, y estaba muy preocupado porque habíais oído que estaba enfermo.

27 For indeed he was sick near to death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow on sorrow.

Porque, en efecto, estuvo enfermo casi hasta la muerte, pero Dios tuvo misericordia de él, y no sólo de él, sino también de mí, para que no tuviera pena sobre pena.

28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

Por eso lo he enviado con mayor diligencia, para que cuando lo veáis de nuevo, os alegréis, y yo me entristezca menos.

29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

Recibidlo, pues, en el Señor con toda alegría, y tened a estas personas en honor,

30 Because for the work of Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

porque por la obra de Cristo se acercó a la muerte, arriesgando su vida para suplir lo que faltaba en vuestro servicio hacia mí.
